    A great slice of Hunter/Garcia

Makes me wonder why Jerry didn't play it with OAITW

They are fantastic. They regularly do a set of dead music with jeff Austin called Greatful Ball.

I have a recording of Allison playing with tony at the birchmeir in about 89. Just a couple songs and I think she was very young.

Sharon Gilchrist, who backed Tony Rice and Peter Rowan. She plays a Gilchrist mandolin. No relation.

I'm a little biased but my favorite bluegrass musician is Paul Buskirk. Paul built a house in Nacogdoches (a little town in East Texas where I grew up) with a little help from his good friend Willie Nelson (who he worked with on the album, Nacogdoches Waltz). Paul could play anything with strings on it. Chet Atkins said "Paul Buskirk was one of the greatest natural musicians I have ever known."

Interesting side note: There's a much sought after 45 for sale on Discogs (going for $10,000) that has Willie (credited as Hugh Nelson) performing on a song he wrote called "Nite Life". Paul bought the song from Willie for $150 and he and Willie recorded it covertly due to some contractual issues. I think there are only a few copies out there.

    Does Sarah Jarosz count?

    Or is she more "Americana"?

As much as I love Sarah, she's not bluegrass.
