I'd have "liked" this post, Sean, except that Press to Play appears in that first 20 year period...

The press release for the Flowers reissue was released mid December last year, so I think it’s a safe bet whatever happens we’re not going to get an archive release in March 2018.

I'm hardly the expert on this subject, but haven't these been faked quite a bit?

I think Paul's (singing) voice will be gone at some point but he'll survive us all, even Keith Richards.

Also, this'll get an expanded release with a bonus CD titled Blisters On Ringo's Fingers.

I like that song, but it does get repetitive. Happening time and time again...

Cold Cuts would make a great release from Paul. I love that album.

I personally love the 1980/1981 (?) mix of the Cold Cuts album and the mix of "A Love For You" on it.

I’ve heard fakes exist, but it sure seems like an odd item to fake. And I’m not so sure how one is supposed to tell...

The fakes blurry print and is not lined up exactly where the original is and the fakes also have square corner stickers instead of round edges.

A fake was just on eBay last month and I thought about buying it but I passed. Waiting for an original

Yeah...that mix of "A Love For You" was the one I grew up, so each subsequent mix seems to be lacking.

I wonder if the cover insert would include the nude woman pictures again?

If it doesn't, it will be a bigger debacle than the download fiasco that occurred with the Flowers In The Dirt Archive set.

    Agree on both points.

I think sometimes McCartney (like Chaplin and it's films) needs a good pair of editing scissors...

McCartneys post Beatles output is so inferior to his Beatles work. So much filler. You could take 10 of his albums and make 2 or 3 half way decent ones.

What is it with Paul McCartney and his unreleased music? For decades now there have been finalized, or nearly finalized albums of unreleased or hard to find B-sides that he suddenly gets seconds thoughts about and cancels the project. I, and many others apparently, felt the Archive releases would finally rectify things with regards to the vaults. And now many fear this will be another project that Paul will not see to completion. I'm glad he's proud of his new projects, but please, finish what you've started Paul!

Has there been a year since the Archive series was started when there wasn't one? 2016?

Yep, since the series started in 2010, the only year there wasn't a release was 2016. Of course, we did get all those 1985 remixes, so it wasn't a complete bust.

Maybe the McCartney staff is still looking for session tapes in the vaults and attics hence the lack of Archive Editions in the recent years...

I'm not sure if there is a 1971 mix. The earliest mix that I am aware of was for Cold Cuts. Since then McCartney has made several attempts at overdubbing and mixing the song, and has released two of those attempts.

I agree that including the 1986 mix on the "Ram" box was tacky and a huge mistake.
