This was pretty much my response to Season 8 and 9. :)

is it me or does the living room set seem narrower and more cramped than the old set? I wonder if they had any old blueprints to work off of when recreating it?

It might just be the new cameras used.

Would Dan Conner use hair and eyebrow dye?

Considering how viewers were floored during whatever season it was that Roseanne introduced her "new" face after plastic surgery (and then continued to change her face pretty regularly for the rest of the show's run), some hair dye is not a big deal.

It appears likely that at least Sara Gilbert has also had some pretty noticeable face work done (and for some reason has also completely changed her voice). So even a slimmed down and dyed Dan Conner kinda looks less "different" comparatively.

It really is going to be interesting to see if its as funny as the original. I know there were lots of creative problems with the original, but I only came to know that after the run of the show. Is it possible for a reboot (same people) and be as funny? Hopefully so!

After puberty, Sara Gilbert lowered her voice to play Darlene (and for a few other roles, like her medical student character in ER). The voice you hear in interviews and on The Talk is her natural voice.

It probably won’t be as good as the original was in its peak, but it can’t be any worse than the last few seasons.

That's exactly what I was about to post. :)

Roseanne: [after Darlene scares her] That is not funny! You're grounded until menopause!
    Darlene: Yours or mine?
    Roseanne: Your father's!

Interesting. Is there an interview somewhere where she discusses this?

I haven't watched any of the trailers for the new show. Is she going to go back to that old voice?

I don’t think she’s ever talked about it, but I’ve noticed her go back and forth between her Darlene voice and her more feminine natural voice over the years, depending on the project.

Here’s a promo for the show, but she only says two words in it.

I was talking up until 1994-5. After that, it's not funny anymore. I guess I should say its early years.

In the last episode it's reveled that in "real life" Dan died from the heart attack he suffered at Darlene's wedding and that Roseanne made up the events of the entire series to help cope with the loss.

Love Roseanne. She's a 60s Deadhead like myself. Her farewell episode to Jer was heartfelt and very groovy, she really let her freak flag fly on that one.I am curious to see where her head is at now during the Trump era.
