My little idiosyncrasies seem so minor and manageable now. Thank you, Japanese audiophiles!

That turntable in the first video looks almost like a mastering lathe. Love the long tonearm, also.

I just showed the wife the video to prove to her (or perhaps myself) that I wasn't crazy.

Do not show your partners the last line of the video! Or prepare a VERY good comeback line before you do :)

Good point on the power from the public grid being tainted. That'll be my justification for tapping directly into the power grid ..... but I'm not payin' for my own power pole to do it since - as the last guy in the video pointed out - I can use that money for more gear ;) ......

Wow. The 2nd guy in the video hasn’t purchased new clothes in 15 years?

Nor used a clothes iron, apparently!

There are much cheaper ways to run a system on clean power than buying your own utility pole. How about a PS Audio P10 Powerplant (or even the new P20). Even so, that’s a minor improvement compared to setting up a system well. He has his own utility pole and yet his speakers are in wall and he has an equipment rack out in front of them. Also, why not invest in a more comfortable chair?

The video showcases symptoms of obsessive behavior. It has more to do with that than it does being an audiophile.

After 10 plus years on these forums now, it's virtually impossible for me to be surprised or alarmed by the behavior of audiophiles. At first, I almost thought it was ridiculous that the second guy has to move his couch every time he opens his refrigerator, but the more I thought about it the more I figured, "Nah, it's fine. It's gotta be worth it." :uhhuh:
