That is such a great story! I'm glad you both enjoyed it despite the mix-up!

The film was fantastic. I laughed all the way through. Very rare, even for the best comedies.

It holds its own if you haven't seen the room, and paints an interesting portrait of a man with a dream.

I barely have enough time to see the good movies I want to see. The only way I'll see a bad one is it it is being made fun of by a man and two bots.

I thought this was decent but also felt like I should have just watched "The Room" again.

I went to a screening in 2010 and have the DVD signed by Tommy and Greg. Tommy kind of hit on my wife a little and then said to me, "Ha ha, you are good sport."

Finished The Room...definitely worth watching. It's bad...but good...hard to describe. Actually liked some of the directing choices.

Here's a great 6-minute essay on why The Room is such a great bad movie:

"I deed not heet her, I deed naaaahhhhhttttt.... Oh, hi, Mark."

That's the odd thing about it: the story and performances are awful, but the direction and cinematography are actually not entirely amateurish.

Hey, Wiseau spent $6 million on the film, so for that kinda money, you can at least get something that's properly exposed and focused.

    From IMDB's Trivia page...

    --

Shot simultaneously on 35 mm film and high-definition video. Tommy Wiseau was confused about the differences between the formats, so he used both cameras on the same mount. He also purchased the cameras, instead of renting them as film productions usually do.

I spoke to one of the DPs on the shoot (who it turned out I knew casually), and he told me none of the HD was used at all -- the final result was entirely film.

My wife and I watched The Room this morning (on YouTube) then went to the movies and saw The Disaster Artist. We loved both films. James Franco was nailed it.

He wrote “You would look great in a red dress” on my wife’s copy of the “Disaster Artist” book.

That’s after he’d angrily crossed out the name of Greg’s co-writer from the inside title page.
