Dude... I was QUOTING the dear member above... [IMG] I didn't think it would be nice to 'correct' his quote in acknowledging it... However, in the spirit of understanding (that it, until I find out where you live...) I will graciously accept your correction [IMG]

(besides, the poor guy is from the UK, so... I mean he has VAT and taxes and really bad food to deal with. I think he deserves our compassion...)

I’ll bite. Taxes are lower here than in the US, and that’s before you factor in we get near double the annual leave than in the US.

Food here is simply outstanding now and has been for 20 years. The cliche of bad food in the UK dates back to the 1970s.

I know you were joking, BTW. :D

Whoops this is all my fault haha! :D

Just to put the er....record straight (see what I did there?) I have the avatar tagline "Vinyls are Forever..." as a bit of fun having a slightly provocative but ironic statement knowing full well that it should really be "Vinyl is Forever" of course. I'm always correcting people who talk about their vinyls more than anyone. BUT "Vinyl is Forever" doesn't rhyme with "Diamonds are Forever" and "Vinyl are Forever" isn't grammatically correct. "Diamond (or Diamonds) is Forever" is also wrong, plus it isn't the actual movie or song name either! I'm just having my fun, and hey, I can't upset Miss Bassey or Mr Bond can I? :D

Right I'm now off to play my vinyls forever.....well for tonight at least anyway hehehe ;)

It's gone back up -I got it at its lowest price - but it’s still cheap at 8.28GBP (at time of writing).

Shipping has really gotten expensive. I had to return a damaged King Crimson box set to Amazon UK to the tune of $68 dollars.

If the box was damaged, why did you have to pay to ship it back to them...?

Amazon make you pay for overseas returns with the view they will refund you once received. I sent back my new copy of Hendrix Smash Hits as it had the front cover stating poster included but it wasn't included. Sent the return message to amazon france, they say they'll send a replacement and refund postage once received. I had to return my copy of Dylan Hard Rain vinyl as sleeve was damaged but that is free as was amazon UK. Seems to be down to their contracts with the return operators only applies to that country. Which is okay, I don't have too much of an issue but nearly £6 postage back to France isn't cheap. Hope to get a message confirming refund during next week, amazon are usually pretty good on that.
