Hi, I don't know if you can help me and satisfy my curiosity.

I'm the owner of a "Yesterday and Today" copy with a difference: a stamp "confidencial" on the cover. I can post some photos. The stamp "confidencial" seems to be very rare.

Can you tell me something about this difference? And about the value?

    Many thanks. Michele

I had immense problems getting it down myself...
    Do NOT use photophucket.
Best and easiest is : www.imgur.com Totally FREE.
Upload your photos to your page after you sign up.
Simply pull up the photo you want and "copy" then go
to the thread on SHF.. Simply hit "paste" the photo will
be posted, and you can write your script.
That is the easiest, no dealing with the address and bs.
Take time, practice... you'll get it.

I can honestly say I have never seen that stamp on any Beatles Lp. My best guess would be it was applied by a previous owner. Maybe a DJ?

If you are looking at the value of the cover, I'd say it is the value of a 2nd State Butcher cover, given the condition.

I personally dont think the stamp substantially adds or substracts value, unless there is a story behind it.

    Thanks for sharing!

I think a copy for internal use before marketing. I know that there are copies with a stamp "for internal use", but "confidencial" is more than "for internal use".

    The project needed approval.
Maybe the stamp refers to a prototype to be submitted for approval by the management.

I dunno about that. Those paste overs were rushed.

Does the cover measure like a true 2nd state?

Yeah, just now... imgur lets you do them separately and much better.
Re: the cover, have not seen that before .. I tend to think it may have been
added at some time, only because I have never seen anything resembling something like that in years of seeing authentic slicks, etc.
    but.. what do I know.
The condition is unfortunate, but certainly a keeper with the stamp.
I have recently posted some different slicks, and early Capitol art dept material at the "More... signed PS.." thread currently available in search (just a shameless 'lil plug).
You may want to pursue this further, perhaps contact Perry or Rockaway would be a good place to start off. Good luck on ya.

that's an odd one, not sure why Capitol would stamp it confidential, maybe somebody grabbed the wrong stamp?

  24. Not from Capitol imo. It it just so happens the stamp is in right around 'Ringo's V'....
