Now streaming on Amazon, a first listen to "In Search Of Divine Light" performed by Divna (vocalist) and Melodist (ensemble) on Valley Entertainment.

Chant from Byzantine, Russian, and Bulgarian traditions.

There are too many books out there. I have the Eton Choirbook but did not know there are some Baldwin Partbooks that have yet to be explored ... :o

Of the complete Toccatas? I've never seen it and I just searched--no luck.

That was an early '60s recording/release. I have a 2-LP reissue from the mid-'70s (shown below) that was made in Italy. Very fine performance from these two masters.

Spinning my favorite Nielsen 4th and 5th performances. Curious what performances other folks call their favorites.

Oh the highs and lows of vinyl collecting.
I received a ‘mint’ record today that was clean split in two!!! :yikes:
It had been sent in a wafer thin mailer without any cardboard stiffeners - zero protection.
Fortunately not a rare or valuable disc but to add insult to injury I had to walk to the Post Office and back to collect the damn thing …

Dausgaard in the fourth and Bernstein in no 5. Far better than these tepid versions from Saraste.

Saraste's earlier Sibelius on RCA is much better.

(CD BIS BIS-CD-864) 1997 .... transcendental readings of both Symphonies 6+7 and a heartfelt performance of the symphonic poem "Tapiola" .... generally I`m not a dedicated follower of Osmo Vänskä but here he really hits the spot ....

I have the Blomstedt and like it although in hindsight I'd of been better off with the Davis sacd set as a mainstay.
