This is one of those songs that when you first hear it you are reminded how much you love music. It has a great rolling melody and for those who need their guitar solo's it's got that too. This song is just mesmerizing. What does everyone else think of it?

If you don't already have the entire album, I would recommend it... Thinking of a Place is my fave from the album

FWIW, I also think Pain track is great

Not as mesmerizing as Under The Pressure (for me), but it is a fantastic tune. It's my favorite from A Deeper Understanding.

Really?? That one never clicked for me as much as Red Eyes of the final trio of songs on Lost in the Dream

Absolutely, I consider it to be the best song I've heard in the last 20 years.

Listening to Under The Pressure right now. Just increased the number of views to 4,592,887! It has a nice rolling beat, which I'm always a sucker for!

Other than being frigging awesome, not much. This is the next great rock band. It's fun when you're onto something like this from the beginning.

OMG Pain sounds so sweet on my Sennheiser HD 558's. The guitar coming in at 3:58 is smart genius.

I like them...a lot. Having said that, the current album is like a "polished" version of the last. Don't know what the next one will be like but I just get a sense of unease that unless they somehow change things then there might well be a critical backlash.

Love the last 2 albums. He's definitely found his sound now. A Deeper Understanding can get a bit samey, but Pain is a great track, and Thinking Of A Place is my favourite.

An Ocean In Between The Waves, Eyes To The Wind and In Reverse were my faves from Lost In The Dream.

Just got the “A Deeper Understanding” album today and yes, “Pain” is indeed the standout track on first listen. “Thinking of a Place” is my next favorite. Fantastic album overall.

I enjoyed Lost in the Dream quite a bit, but can’t seem to connect with A Deeper Understanding. I guess, for me, the overall sound and songwriting approach is just too similar to LID.

Since I participated in this thread it encouraged me to listen to the album again, haven't played it for a couple of weeks. Hmm...starts out strongly, really enjoying the more polished production and the obvious "craft" they have tried to instil into the record. By the last few tracks I have to admit that I had had enough. Seemed to drag interminably and sound very "samey." There is no doubt that on this and the previous release there are some great individual tracks but not sure I could listen to the two back to back.

I was going to get the new album last year but for some reason held back. Pain was included on Mojo Magazines best of 2017 cover cd so subsequently added to my iTunes library alongside the Lost in the Dream album. I had a quick listen to the new album online and thought Pain was by far the best track so as I have the track already haven't yet bought the album. Maybe when it goes cheap.

    Pain is superb track.
