    Hi all,
Am planning my next road trip in the USA for next year and as always I need to go armed with a list of the best record stores.
I am looking for stores selling new and used rock and metal vinyl in:

    Ohio & Pennsylvania

Hit me with your favourite stores!

Gold Million Records in Berwyn, PA. It used to be called Plastic Fantastic, many years ago.

Double Decker Records, Allentown, PA, is the best record store that I've ever been to.

I would suggest this one only if (as I was) you are already driving right past it on 90. There was a thread on Cleveland-area record stores here with more insight on this and other stores in the general Cleveland metro area.

Out towards Amish Country, there's a lil' town called Ephrata, just north of Lancaster on Reading Road...it's called Record Connection. I'd say it's about 40 minutes northeast of Harrisburg.
In Lancaster there's the Keystone Record Collectors record fair every 2nd Sunday morning, and it's in an old motel right next to Dutch Wonderland on Lincoln Highway east, called the Continental Inn.

there is also a record connection store in niles ohio.....horrible place, vastly overpriced, but he is knows he is now the only game in town and charges accordingly.

A few in Philly. Long in the Tooth. Nick, the owner, is quite knowledgeable.

Beautiful World Syndicate always has good used records.

    Repo Records for indie stuff.

And if on the eastern side of PA, might as well go to Princeton Record Exchange.

Not sure if you are planning to just stick to the Western part of PA, but if you venture to the East there is a shop about a half hour from the PA/NJ border located in NJ. Vintage Vinyl. Best metal selection for vinyl in the entire PA/NY/NJ area. Highly recommended.

thanks! All added to the list :)

  21. With the route you are taking you could also do Princeton Record Exchange in Princeton (for vinyl and cds) and Double Decker( for vinyl) in Allentown and skip Philly for records but sight see. I would add Mr Suit in Lancaster for vinyl, you can skip Record Connection in Ephrata unless there is something you are burning to find.

You can add George's Song Shop in Johnstown, Pa on your way to Pittsburgh for an curious side stop.

But if you time it right Vintage Vinyl, Princeton, and Doubledecker will beat anything else on your trip.

If you are doing soul/Northern soul then you'll have to do Val Shively's, no browsing, want lists only.

Another good store to add in Pittsburgh (in addition to Music To My Ear and Jerry' Records) is Attic Record Store. It is in Millvale, PA but is really close to the other 2 records, all within 15 minutes of each other.
