There is a second song out. And regarding new albums I listened to a song from the upcoming Destroyer 666 and wow is it lame. Tired and depleted.
I just assumed that that really good album would be in my top ten if I had a top ten. In order to verify I tried to make a list. Initially there were 30 albums and then I started knocking off albums that didn't hurt to give the boot until I could boot no more and ended up with this list. The albums or EPs near the top are favoured. Sinmara - Within the Weaves of Infinity Beneath - Ephemeris Redemptor - Arthaneum Tongues - Hrelia Aversio Humanitatis - Longing for the Untold Souverain - Atrexial Cadaveris - The Ceremony of Worshiping Necrot - Blood Offerings Cult of Erinyes - Tiberivs Khandra - All is of No Avail Afraid of Destiny - Agony Wode - Servants of the Countercosmos Napalm Raid - Wheel of War Hate - Tremendum Valdur - Divine Cessation Bonehunter - Sexual Panic Human Machine Only an EP but I don't think I posted anything from it before.
I saw that they had a new ep coming out, and I wondered if you'd heard any of it. Just placed an order for the new disc from Jess and the Ancient Ones, love this band, a Dutch band who channel 60's psych/occult rock.
I really like that cover. My fave hippie chick is at 45 seconds. Maybe not exactly hippie but she sure does radiate life and love and a host of other best human qualities.
^^^^^^ I wish I was standing beside her during that concert! Whenever I see people at old shows like that I wonder, "what was the rest of their life like? Are they still around?" My fave hippie chick is Roberta Pedon. Use your google-fu to look her up, but not in mixed company! Now my fave concert lady is in the below at 3:45, I first saw her when mtv used to show this vid all the time back in the 80s and she still brings a smile to my old face now.
The very thoughts I've had when seeing people who stand out. That young lady might be approaching 60 now if she's still about. I hope she was able to enjoy seeing herself. Maybe have her kids laugh. Hehe, mixed company. My company is well mixed up. My google-ation happened to reconnect me with a website I had forgotten about. Packed with what is now vintage photos of cars, bikes (bikers), women, rock n' roll, movie stars from the 50s-70s. The Selvedge Yard Roberta Pedon on Selvedge Yard. Not the most informative photo available. Last night I cleared the deck of 2017 meaning dealing with all albums that were in the 'maybe' category. Dealt with ruthlessly the only survivor was Pallbearer who remain a maybe. I'm glad to move on to 2018, both musically and otherwise. From Mexico this was....IS a gentle yet enjoyable alternative within the genres. Released January 8, 2018.
Browsing Selvedge Yard I recognize this quote “Manhattan was a river of men flowing past my door, and when I was thirsty, I drank.” from a New York Times book review. Alice Denham — writer, Playboy centerfold, film actress who left a vivid chronicle of her literary and sexual adventures in her 2006 memoir, “Sleeping With Bad Boys: A Juicy Tell-All of Literary New York in the Fifties and Sixties.” Ms. Denham came to New York in the early 1950s, fresh from the University of Rochester, with two things on her mind: literary fame and romance. The city held forth the promise of both, in abundance. “New York in the fifties was like Paris in the twenties.” WOW! That is a magnificent portrait.
Roberta Pedon has always fascinated me, as no one seems to know her story. There's all kinds of stories about her background but no one seems to really know where she come from or her real name or what happened to her. I read years ago that someone was working on a book about her but I don't think it ever came to light. I'm thinking of going to see Pallbearer at the end of Feb as they'll be in Asheville along with Ruby Hatchet opening. Hubba hubba! Here's a review of her book:
In my Lenny McCoy voice "She's dead Jim". Roberta Pedon died at age 28 on July 30, 1982 due to complications from liver disease, and you're right there's nothing else about her to be found anywhere. It's the typewriter that makes the portrait better. Clearly an author rather than a secretary she exudes strength. It looks film noir when women were dames who talked tough and produced pistols from purses. I like this but it's only available as a physical product. Come on! Must I dirty my 21st century hands with the Pony Express?
Was checking this out and it sure did grab me at the start. Then kinda lost me somewhere along the way. Still will have to hear the whole thing when it's out Feb 16. Self-Annihilating Consciousness, by Eigenlicht
So I finally got the 2CD comp from Arkhtinn today. It collects their first three demos of dark, cosmic black metal in the style of the mighty Darkspace. Here is the first massive track:
Another recent purchase is Sea of Bones 2013 release The Earth Wants Us Dead. GREAT 2CD set of doomy, psychedelic sludge!!!
First spin of the CD as I type this - awesome, crushing guitar sound similar I guess to early Entombed, I'm officially a Temple of Void fan.
Love it! The album that is. It sounds almost sped up on that first song. I like that. I looked at the discog and stared for a bit. Double checked bandcamp and yes it is correct. Erotica - Goat Soaked Demo 2017 Demo Demo 2017 A Swing of Sickle to Summers Dawn Full-length 2017 Azazel Bedazzle Full-length 2017 Call upon Your Name Single 2017 Black Moon Kiss EP 2017 The Grim Botanical Full-length 2017 Tear Off Your Wings - Meditations Full-length 2017 The Womb of Those Whom Fall from Heaven Full-length 2018 A Storm of Golden Mare and Black Cauldron Full-length 2018 I like what I saw for members: The Witch. Instruments: Everything. The cover is the death card from the Rider-Waite tarot deck. How do I know that? Not because I'm into mumbo jumbo voodoo but because I had to buy an Aleister Crowley tarot deck once. Again, not for the mumbo jumbo but for the fabulous art. It is terrific. Sometimes with lesser bands I wonder if some clean vocals are an act of appeasement and when I first played this song I was not only completely surprised by them but I thought they were absolutely perfect. So talented. I took a browse of their facebook and saw this which is cool. I assume that's the cover artist. Other work on his page is the same style. I would like it if he's 6'8" tall and walks around town with that stare.
