The album I released in 1999 goes for quite a bit on eBay. I'm tempted to sell my last remaining copies!

fmfxray373 Capitol LPs in the 70s were pretty good.

Tom Petty Wild Flowers found on a dusty shelf at the Camp Pendleton base thrift store for $.25.
I bought it with a hunch that any vinyl from 1994 was probably rare.

It's interesting how time and inflation in the long run makes so called expensive records reasonable value.
I remember paying £60 for a mint Velvet Underground 3rd LP Promo in the 90s - at that time it was expensive (i was questioning myself for weeks) now it seems very cheap. Although pre internet values were more difficult to gauge and stuff was harder to find, more effort was needed! It can be worth paying top money for mint condition rare nice items.

    Top three:

$165 for the 3-LP Dead Can Dance - In Concert boxset
$100 for Dead Can Dance - Toward the Within LP (original UK pressing I got before the re-issues came out)
$90ish for Asylum Party - Borderline LP, French pressing but ordered from Israel - go figure!

My most expensive one was a limited reissue of Foghat's "Fool for the City" by Demon Records for 30 bucks. I just wanted that disc so badly!

Otherwise I have been very lucky with bargains quite a few times :)

I paid north of $100.00 each for one or two of the Classic Records 200 gram pressings of Led Zeppelin. I don't recall which of the four titles I own cost me that much, but they were probably the debut and Led Zeppelin IV.

I paid $250 for each of these:

Bob Dylan “Ten Of Swords” (Tarantula Records)

The Beatles “Complete BBC Sessions” (Great Dane Records)

I also paid $200 total for “Sugarland” by Bruce Springsteen (two separate 2-LP sets, on clear vinyl, by E Street Records, documenting the November 1984 concert in Lincoln, Nebraska)

I sold the Dylan set - and regret doing so - but I still have the other two.

For a single disc, Bill Haley and the Comets' Shake Rattle and Roll 10". I think I paid $250 for it, but can't remember for sure. For a multi disc set, The MoFi Beatles' box at $500.

Edit: God, the thought of having that kind of disposable income again...
