Check Gretchell Amplifiers in Brownsburg. He runs a very laid back little shop but has an excellent reputation and really specializes in vintage tube amps. Here's his facebook page: Getchell Amplifiers

There are parts of me that would go all @Mazzy and other parts that could see going all @Seafinch . I think the former is more difficult to get right and the thing I like most about the latter is that your stuff stands out more...decisions decisions.

I went against all advice and painted my very small dedicated music room with some dark colors, including the ceiling, primarily so that the acoustic treatments would blend in. All of the furniture was also medium/dark in shade but I'm slowly bringing some of it back to lighter colors. It all started with the white/copper KEF LS50Ws...

The guy has an amazing collection of vintage amps, and I mean vintage. Very much a guitar amp guy.

Whenever I see questions by members concerning an entry level turntable, I think of Gretchell's as he has probably 10-15 decent vintage turntables on hand at reasonable prices. All of them have been gone through by him and are ready to go.

He's also much younger than I expected when I went in there.

Made some changes in my room recently, built a new TT Rack and located it on the side of the room, away from an overhead Heat Vent that was spewing Dry Air and Dust. Rebuilt the Center Rack also (smaller) this has cleaned up the Center Imaging as well.

The masses? Probably not, but every time I see something audio on TV, I'm glued to it. It doesn't happen often enough. A handful of episodes of HOW IT'S MADE have covered turntables, amps and record cutting. Always fun. I'd watch an audio/audiophile centered show.

WOW, that looks like high end hifi showroom!

No issues with first reflections bouncing off the side rack?

  10. Yeah there’s so many options : different styles , tastes , environments.

I always start with something minimal. Blank white or light grey walls. A console or rack with your gear and then a decision in media storage. Then live in it for awhile and then decide on color and other furnishings and artwork.

My house was a flip and they painted everything light great. Easy color for a resell. Everything was just clean and really just a nice box to add to. I first added the walnut console. Not a favorite of audiophiles but after having a nice Billy Bags rack in my old house, I wanted furniture since it’s a living space. Maybe an audio compromise.

Three years later I redid the fireplace and painted one wall a very deep dark blue. It made the room more dramatic and let the fireplace and new white BW702 speakers really pop. Never thought I’d buy white speakers but I feel I absolutely made the right choice here.

I love a bold color statement but I also love all pure white. Unfortunately my walls are slightly textured and I don’t thunk white is as nice on walls that are not perfectly smooth.

I also get nice natural side light here so the long dark wall works.

I know more folks like to see more hi fi gear porn but I also love seeing all the living and listening environments. This is getting to be like an HGTV show :tiphat:

I just made the move yesterday afternoon and haven't had much seat time since. I haven't noticed any ill affects yet...I'm sure there will be some smearing, but the Center Image has improved considerably. I had all the gear on one taller rack previously, now that the Image is much "cleaner" and a little deeper as the Rack is more "out of the way".

I think white speakers can look really sweet in the right setting. I dig the looks of this new model from Monitor Audio (Silver 500) - have not heard them though:

Your system is awesome. That said, you could probably improve imaging and soundstage if you move the speakers out in to the room a bit.
