Could I Love Lucy be the first show to be shown for 100 years?

    Probably. It's just as funny today as it was when it first aired because most of the jokes are timeless. I'd rather watch an episode of I Love Lucy than a modern sitcom.

    Naw, it certainly could be the first comedy to have such success for over a century or however you want to phrase it, but the longest running current program that will be around for 100 years or more will probably be Meet The Press, it's on it's 70th year now, on the air since 1947.

    Does "Our Gang" count? It did not get shown on TV until 1955, but many of the episodes featured footage from the 1920s.
