I'm sure there will be nothing controversial about this band...or these five choices...they are faintly remembered today... :)

Thanks. I was thinking that, but it's still a valid question that I probably spent too much time considering. Personally I'd rank the Mwandishi albums ahead of Futureshock, about a tie with Headhunters. My favorite of his albums are Empyrean Isles and Maiden Voyage, but all his music had something of interest for me.

And my "Iron Maiden Essentials" box...

These are simply the five successive releases that I feel capture the band when they were at their "highest", both creatively and certainly commercially. Nothing too unusal about the choices I suppose.

You know, Elvis already has 5 Original Album Classics box sets. Although one of them only has 3 albums in it:
    Elvis Golden Records
    Elvis Gold Records Volume 2
    Elvis Golden Records Volume 3
    Elvis Gold Records Volume 4
    Elvis Gold Records Volume 5

    Elvis Presley
    Elvis
    Loving You
    Elvis Is Back
    GI Blues

    Blue Hawaii
Pot Luck (should have been on the previous box, switching with GI Blues)
    Girls! Girls! Girls!
    Fun In Acapulco
    Viva Las Vegas

    TV Special
    On Stage
    That's The Way It Is
    Aloha From Hawaii
    Live On Stage In Memphis

    Today
    Elvis Presley Boulevard
    Moody Blue

Well... There's also a second set with the 5 following albums.

Jethro Tull also has several configurations.
I got really lucky with their first 5 album set which was done by EMI and subsequently went out of print.

    It contained:
    Aqualung
    A Passion Play
    Minstrel In The Gallery
    Too Old To RnR...
    Songs From The Wood

All with bonus tracks, except for Aqualung.

There also was a 4-album set that covered A to Crest Of A Knave. Don't have it.

Other than the EMI set I have the 3-cd set with the first three albums and the second Universal 5-discer that chronicles Under Wraps through Roots To Branches. The first Universal 5-disc set, which I don't have due to overlap, contains Wood through Broadsword And The Beast, if I'm correct.

Besides the sets I have I made sure the gaps got covered as well (Living In The Past, Thick, War Child, Horses etc.) ;)

That would make for a great box. I felt bad myself about not being able to tack on a sixth album. I would have included Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son.
