Another plus 1 to the SHM-SACD, sold my UK Vertigo Porky after hearing it.

On CD, I've always had the WB version and was content (except for butchering the CD booklet). I went on a limb and got the entire 2016 re-issues and didn't like any of them (except for the Paranoid Deluxe). I'm unfamiliar with the SHM and SCAD format. It seems they are highly regarded. . Am I correct, that the SHM-CD format is playable on a regular CD players while SCAD isnt?

As to vinyl, I have the Green WB, Rhino Reissue and the Vertigo first(price code) and second(DeLuxe) pressings. Of the four, I prefer the Green WB and Rhino.

No one likes them I know but I prefer the 1996 Castle for this album. No noised I realize but not that terrible. Reversed channels as well. This version also has the reprise of Wheels of Confusion in the fade out which is cool. The only version that does not sound muffled at lower volume.

I wouldn't know. I have never played Sabbath at lower volume. :D I have also never eaten ice cream with a plastic tongue cover.

I must admit when I want to blast it, I go to a different version. I was wondering, is the 96 Castle the only version with the little reprise and longer fade out in Wheels of Confusion? Anyone?

One way or another, I also have Andy Pearce remasters:

BS, Paranoid – 2009 (Japan deluxe) and 2016
    MOR – 2009 (Japan Deluxe)
    Vol. 4, SBS, Sabotage – 2009
    TE, NSD - 2016

I believe that little additional fadeout on "Wheels" first appeared on a Nems reissue. Maybe 1976?

Really has no business there, IMO.

Me too. The 2009 mastering hits the right sonic balance for my ears. My speakers of choice are the behringer truth monitors.

Exactly... For awhile I was torn between the 86 Castle and the 2009, but now I think I like the 2009 better. Which cd version do you feel most closely resembles the original WB greenie LP?

I'm not qualified to say. I haven't heard the LP version in many decades.

Fair enough... Anyone else? I remember reading that the green label LP had huge bass, almost too much. Would that be similar to the 2009 or 86 Castle cd?
