Should I get the Zeppelin 2014 Deluxe CDs just for the extra content?

3 great bonus cuts on Led Zep 3 DE. I think they are pretty essential.

    That's The Way (Rough Mix)
    Jennings Farm Blues (Rough Mix)
Key To The Highway/Trouble In Mind (Rough Mix)

Are you saying you already have all the 2014 non deluxe remasters on LP and CD or do you mean you have previous masterings?

    OK, here's my lot:

LZ1 - LP = MO press. CD = Original atlantic and 2014 (bought solely for the live disc, listened once to the new remaster, too bright)

    LZ2 - LP = UK A2/B2 plum. CD = Original atlantic

LZ3 - LP = UK plum (exec producer, 'do what thou wilt'). CD = Original atlantic and 2014 (is it keys to highway on this one? I've forgetten why I even bought it)

LZ4 - No LP, still waiting for a good, playable plum to pop up. CD = Original atlantic and 2014

HOTH - LP = Original UK RL press. CD = Original atlantic. Really can't see why I'd need anything other than these two.

PG - No LP, intend to get a good original copy. They're fairly common place in the UK. CD = Original atlantic fatboy.

Presence - LP = UK original. CD = Original atlantic

ITTOD - LP = UK original strawberry press. CD = Original atlantic

Coda - No LP, I'll buy it if I come across it, not actively searching. CD = Original atlantic.

    TSRTS - Original atlantic CD.

BBC Sessions - Got the 2016 BBC sessions on CD. Enjoyed it quite a bit, will probably get the LPs when they come down a bit in price.

HTWWW - DVD-A for the stereo layer. The cd was like being banged on the head repeatedly.

No remasters for you! And no HHWCID or BCOH either, you're missing some real treats.

That Royal Orleans is a travesty, worse than the original. I do agree about the 10 Ribs & all, nice instrumental backtrack that could have been a good song. Not sure that makes it a 'must have', but it's a nice piece of piano from JPJ.

I am just starting out with my Led Zeppelin collection, and thought getting these 2014-2015 editions would be the easiest and cheepest way to go.
Tho I did find an affordable original german pressing of Led Zeppelin IV.
The ones I do have sound great to me, but yes the bonus content so far has been underwhelming.

I was not sure wheter to create a new thread,
but I wonder which releases had the best bonus content.
I could have sworn there was a thread especially about the bonus tracks,
but using the search function didn't yield any result.
(tried Led Zeppelin bonus tracks, led zeppelin remasters)
anyhow this topic migh do as well.

I decided that for the lp releases the normal 1 record version would do.
No need for me to have the bonus material on vinyl,
as I want them to be as original as possible.
But I have the two cd versions of

    - Led Zeppelin III
    - IV
    - Houses of the Holy and
    - In Through The Out Door

I only got the one discs versions of

    - Led Zeppelin I and II and I think I made a mistake with those, as it seems these two have the most interesting bonus content.

I don't have any of the others yet.
But with only three left I am kinda late in asking.
Which releases do you think has the best bonus material?

That's my big dissapointment as well.
I heard about the extended outro on "All My Love" and was thinking that would have been one of the bonus track.
I think I am going to pick up the remainder as two discs versions anyhow.
The price differences between the 1 and 2 cd versions aren't that much,
and reading this thread closely it seems that "Presence" and "Coda" are the best regarding the bonus content.
Still interesting in reading more opinions tho.

For me there are gems on all the deluxe versions, some more than others.

I would recommend the bonus disc on LZ III also. It truly does qualify as an "alternative" album in my view.

EDIT opps. I didn't see you already had LZ III

I've mentioned it before, but IV remains my personal favorite of the companion discs. Mostly because every album track is at least included, and each song is just different enough to qualify as "companion album tracks", without being so rough or radical that they end up just being a disc of random "outtakes or demos". Great stuff!

But, as many have mentioned, all the albums have their fair share of interesting mixes and all of them are worthwhile. Assuming one is as irrationally in love with this band as I am... :p

Such an interesting question if you think about it. My automatic response is "Yes, get them!"

But then I think about it, and some of them I've played at least once. :D
