Somewhere between "kinda both" and just being sarcastic.

I'd not be surprised if most folks here only give a pass to 1-3 Jefferson Airplane albums and that's basically it, so that they more or less dismiss Jefferson Starship and see (just plain old) Starship as a dirty word.

It's reflective of kind of a miserly/curmudgeonly disposition, of seemingly narrow tastes that I can't relate to, though--just like the fact that the board is full of huge Beatles fans who feel that a lot of Beatles solo albums suck, and maybe not even one of them is worth being considered "great."

So I'm joking/being a smart-ass in that I know that most folks around here aren't going to be enjoying every Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship album, but I'm not joking in that I do enjoy them, that I enjoy all of Chicago's albums, and all of the Beatles solo albums, and all sorts of other stuff, and that I find it kind of disappointing that people can be so narrow in their tastes.

Hot Streets. I wanted to hear the band after Kath was gone. Still regret not stopping with XI.

There are lots of Chicago albums I skip over-- all the regular albums between 18 and 30. However, the Christmas albums are perennials that I dig up every year, and I still think they're the best post-Kath Chicago records.

VII, then I have Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 which collects some of the later hits I like. I am open to exploring their later albums; it's just not high on my list of musical priorities, probably because I don't expect to hear anything amazing.

Edit: I just sampled VIII through 17 and heard much promising material; I think I will give them a shot.
