Oh yeah! And Pakistani as well. A good friend from Pakistan (Punjab region) has very similar food to Indian as well. She showed me how to cook traditional dishes, from scratch. I think I have mentioned before that my husband totally gravitated towards it and he is the main cook now for Tikka Massala, Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken etc etc.
I thought Punjab is a province in India as I used to work with someone from that area years ago. So Pakistan has a region with the same name?
You know what guys ( and gals ) ??? Time for some major coming out. I want to know about your classical music pet peeves. I will start with my top 3. Anything Stravinsky String Quartets of any kind ( most of them are terribly boring to me. I can only stomach that stuff if you add the piano to make it a handful of instruments ) Bach Piano solo works. I think I have explained why before. Sort of a personally traumatic experience. There! I said it!.Let's hear it....which are yours? Bring it on!!!
But how can you not like Glenn Gould, the outstanding Canadian Bach pianist? As for me, Bartok heads the list, to be followed by Schoenberg and any so called modern classical music need not apply either.
In no particular order: - opera - religious music - non-orchestral songs (Schubert and Wolf Lieder for example) - baroque works with piano (harpsichord is fine) - most works by Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky (and some other composers, but these came to mind in an instant...) There's more, but I think that's more than enough for now
Ohh I do like Gould...just not Bach works for solo piano. Hahahaha that so called modern classical music literally makes me sick and want to throw up.
Are you going to get the newly released 180g LP? Also, are you going to get the newly recorded 3 LP set to be released in March? I'm keeping my eye on them but haven't decided yet.
I will buy the 3lp set for sure once I can get it for a good price. I won't get the new version of the d minor Partita because although it's a bit warped, my original plays without any background noise at all ...
1) Anything atonal. An old buddy did his Ph.D on Alban Berg in Vienna. When I went to visit him, he spent four days lecturing me on how atonal music is ever-present in nature. I till can't hear it till this day. 2) Italian operas. ''Mozart' said it best in the movie, Amadeus 3) Baroque music
1. Violin concertos! I just don't get them. 2. Romantic symphonies (Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann etc) 3. Cardboard slipcases for single CD jewel cases (why?)
