I was unaware of that (the existence of such a section of the forum, not your curiosity).

After checking that seems to be for classified ads. This thread was intended to alert consumers to shopping deals. But if I've gone even a millimeter over the line I'm sure the thread will be moved/axed with all dispatch.

    I hate synths, btw.

I trained the guys in my stereo store to always answer Yes! to the question, "Are you having a sale?"

There is always a sale going on.

We get customers at my wife's used book store who ask if we ever have a sale on the books. She joking tells them, "They're all used, so what's in the store is always on sale..." but then goes on to explain that we have marked down books in the bins out in front of the store. After helping her out in the store for some 17 years she and her business partner finally did have an inside-the-store sale on cookbooks. It's hard to move cookbooks these days as everybody seems to get their recipes on line lately.

There is definitely a market for more esoteric cookbooks. I know for a fact that there is a subcult for old books on Cajun/Creole cooking. Many of these books had very limited pressings and as they were seldom sold outside the Gulf Coast, they are virtually impossible to find nowadays. I'm sure there are similar stories for other cuisines.
