The crowd cheering is evident in the promo trailer and so is the clean sound.

    Now bring on Jim....

I don't have a problem with overdubbing or enhancing applause on live albums if it's done well. It can enhance the album and add a certain cohesion from track to track. But if it's amateurish and just "tacked on", it can be a distraction. I'm really not nitpicking about this release and I'm overjoyed it's finally coming out, but that applause on "Break On Through" sounds terrible.

We are all gonna be throwing out a swag of live albums by umpteen artists if enhanced crowd noise however tacky starts getting on our wick.. present day instrument overdubs on a show this old would be peak cheese though

Dolby Digital? Why can't we have DTS HD?

Seems to me the cheesy audience is part of the ad for the video...not the release itself, but the sound overall is pretty top notch. A pity if some songs aren't filmed but I'd rather have them there than not.

I'm as bored with this release as Jim was experiencing it.

This will be the first complete Doors show I have ever seen. It should be here Friday. It will assume its place next to the Doors in Europe DVD.

Pre-ordered and looking forward to this. I dont have Doors IOW bootleg material so wont have anything to compare it to. Like 5.1 surround titles and just glad my favorite song, When the Music Overs on there.

LOVE all the complaints from people on a product they haven’t heard or seen in full. Swell. Don’t you have to do that first before you unleash your hate? Asking for a friend. Thanks.

Have to say as a big fan who has all the vhs, dvd and blu-ray releases they have released, I’m going to pass on this one. Judging from all the songs I’ve seen and heard I can’t see me watching this more than once, and that may be a bit of a chore. :sigh:

I cannot see the video but if the quote about the Dec 11 recordings is true, I don´t care too much. Both recording and performance are weak.
    Maybe they are preparing BYB2?

I played LMF and BOT here in Canada.

80-90% of the LMF footage could have been taken from anywhere in the show. Lens flares/band silhouettes in red, plus looped glimpses of Ray moving his head side to side. I had to push myself to do all 13 minutes. 1/3rd of the show is on the web as it will appear on the blu-ray. Billboard things says IOW was their 3rd last performance as a band, when it was actually their 4th last gig.

R-evolution blu-ray from the couple years ago has the BOT bonus track from IOW. Different angles/cropping/audio mix. I too noticed the added crowd noise and I think I can actually tell you exactly where form the Absolutely Live sessions it comes from....I can even imagine hear the "please welcome from Los Angeles California, the Doors" in my head when the Doors used it in the 80's for a "live" release. Botnick used some AL Crowd noise on Hollywood Bowl, as a crowd request for 1969 written "Do It" is actually audible in n official release of a 1968 show.

    iow-program
Doors page from the original IOW program. I'm guessing it's not included on the new release.
