Grace Slick was stunning in the 60’s. Absolutely gorgeous. Her voice was even better.

I don't choose "sexiest" because they sing songs that reference sex. "Pillow Talk" would be a non-starter for me. Stevie Nicks?! When one thinks of her and the first thing you bring up in your head is what she looks like, that should tell you something (all I can think of is the bleating...go ahead, put on her recording of "Silent Night", and see if it doesn't scare small children). Sade? Without a doubt, but that's your low-hanging fruit, right there...right up there with posting that front cover of Linda Ronstadt's Hasten Down The Wind just because it shows her top two teeth so provocatively.

    Voice! "Sexiest voice!"

Let me second PCM7020's suggestion for Hem's Sally Ellyson, a bell-clear, uncolored voice that's not often found in these threads.

For me it's Kaskade's main squeeze, Becky Jean Williams, vocalist for Late Night Alumni - that's a voice that'll make you ready to drop trou for...and she's already at "pillow talk" volume.

Like sensuous lyrics that aren't afraid to know what sensuality is? Howabout the woman who did a whole album based on Erica Jong: Vanessa Daou.

Like a little sass? Try Jonatha Brooke - if you didn't know the English language, you would swear she was describing a strip-tease in every song. She growls; she coo's; she quivvers; she makes me wish I were her microphone.

I have never heard the French word, "Ooohh" sung any steamier than LouLou does it in Thievery Corporation's "Shadows of Ourselves". YES, that includes Francois Hardy, so you KNOW I'm serious!

And here's one most people miss because of her musical genre: Sixpence None The Richer's Leigh Nash. Try her Delerium track on Chimera, "Orbit of Me". (For the one-two punch, follow-up with the next track, "Magic", featuring David Lynch favorite Julee Cruise).

Little further back, the gal who sang, "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there", Bonnie Herman. She was a Chicago jingle singer, who was 1/4th of Singers Unlimited.

    I'm ready for a cigarette...

I'm gonna hold onto that one, in case somebody opens up a thread entitled, "Sexiest studio processing setting masquerading as a voice", so thanks for that. I've heard more natural sounds come from the drums on Phil Collins' first three albums...
