Unfortunately, this show is a mess and a total letdown given the potential of the premise that it's based on. In fact the premise is pretty much forgotten as the show becomes just a standard cop procedural where too much time is wasted on uninteresting and ludicrous cases. The only good thing I can say about it is Agyness Deyn (Renko), whom I liked very much, and who reminded me of a grown up Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things.
Did nowt for me-just a combination of overacting and tired tropes. At times it felt like Neil Cross wanted to do another series of Luther but was forced into this daft sci-fi rubbish because Idris Elba was busy.
I’ve liked it so far but I agree that there are too many side stories that detract from the. Aim narrative. I think this w i didn’t feel that was the case. It dealt also with the consequences out of the decision of the female officer to publicize the information so, while a side story, it was indirectly related to the main story. The alternative is to watch as MI5 continue to try and get them (well the info is already out) Or preparation for the event.
