That's why I said "not really garage". Some good songs though, which was my point.

A band called Immigrant Union put out an excellent album called Anyway a couple years ago.

We do have a similar station in Perth RTR FM. Community radio stations do provide a very much improved listening experience to the commercial stations, however, they are hampered by their format of shows by genre in specific timeslots that don't often fit into your lifestyle.

I'm assuming bands like Celibate Rifles and Lime Spiders are considered more known Australian musical artists, so I will present this:

The Monarchs from their album "Make Yer Own Fun". Every song is a winner:

    Probably a more popular Aussie band, but it's a hit, it's a bang, it's a smash!

If Australia was the only country that could produce music, I would be ok with that.

They're stopping that from happening though. Like with the new Northbridge Link etc, theyre making tenants sign a covenant stating that they know its a nightlife/entertainment district that theyre moving into. Builders are required to be more pro-active with sound-proofing etc.
Perth is growing up about those things. The city is changing all the time, but whats not changing is that great new music is always coming up.
