Well, you should have thrown a tantrum, screaming and crying until your parents took your six year old self to see the Beatles. :D ;)

I don't know what it is about me, but once I see someone a couple of times, I've got it . I don't need to see them 2o or 50 times. It's like I absorb their act and then I can go back to their records .

It's a big world with different takes on things but if I went and saw anyone 100 times or whatever, like Colin has , I'd be bored out of my mind . :p

Maybe it's because I'm a musician myself , but it's like, I've seen 'em, I've got it, now on to the next band I haven't seen .

Paul is a super hero of mine, so seeing him a half a dozen times is a tribute to him, and out of the ordinary for me.

I think I'm done with Ian Anderson. His voice is gone, his guitar player is gone, the AV feeds are cheesy. A real Tull reunion with Martin would bring me back, but that's about it.

The Church- saw them about 20 times over the years, but the magic seems to have largely dissipated since Marty Wilson-Piper left the band.

  4. Same here although if I do go back and see someone, it’s after a long break.

Once I start losing interest in the records, it's hard to get me back to the shows.

Unlike Bruce Johnston, Al is original enough for me.

Hey, I've only seen Bruce 100+ times - no one else is past 79! :D

Morrissey would previously have been a must see, but a combination of a dire album and some dubious views put me right off.

Bruce is certainly one artist. I have seen him about 120 times since 1978 and after the 2000 stand at Madison Square Garden, I have only seen him once or twice every tour.

Richard Thompson is an artist I saw dozens of times in the early 90’s and I just got burnt out seeing him. I have not seen him live since 1994.

So Bruce wouldn't count for this thread. You'd need to stop seeing him essentially entirely, not just stop seeing him excessively! :D

I've seen Paul McCartney 8 times but skipped his last show in Atlanta. I don't know if I'm burned out on his shows or hesitant to spend what it takes to get good seats and a hotel, etc...Maybe a combination of both!

I'm less inclined to pay the high prices for "legacy", acts these days.

Loved Van Morrison but haven't seen him since mid-90's. Very samey plus high prices put me off.

Still would love to see Tom Waits.

Not what the topic is about, but have seen every Roger Waters tour except Radio KAOS. After the latest, it's enough.

I saw 13 shows of the "new" Queen in 2005/2008 with Paul Rodgers all over Europe, - but have only seen them once since then with Adam Lambert - even though they have played gigs about an hour drive from me.

Yes - it is now too depressing for me (both band and audience unfortunately).

James Taylor, I love his music, but it is the same old songs every time.

Underworld - they used to improvise, and have different setlists, but its pretty much the same now

new order - another band that had more variety, but now its greatest hits

the human league - with no material for ages, and even then, they just play their greatest hits

granted, most of these bands don't come to the US often or at all, but when they did they used to be
    good to go to.
