Do you really want to be stuck on a bus full of other collectors and hipsters? So check this out:

    Record Store Crawl Official Website

"The Record Store Crawl combines the best of record stores, bar crawls, and live music into the greatest crate digging experience in town. Join a group of vinyl enthusiasts and crate diggers as we are escorted on a coach bus from record store to record store enjoying music, drinks and fun."

Apparently this is the 3rd annual but the first time it's truly gone national.

The two botched Alice Cooper albums that got screwed up and pulled from Rhino's "Start Your Ear Off Right" promotion this year are being repressed and will now be exclusives for this event.

Have you attended one? Seems kind of harsh if you haven’t. Not my thing, but I’m not offended by it.

I believe there are record store crawls that aren't sponsored by Rhino - and have been for some time now.
    That being said,
"and bottomless Deep Eddy Vodka at Baby’s All Right"

This sounds kind of fun to me but I wouldn't really want to go to one in my own city. I can get drunk and go to those places whenever I want anyway!

Not to mention collectors. Imagine being stuck in a seat next to some old geezer who goes on, & on, & on, &on about The Beatles

Besides the alcohol, why would you want to crate dig as part of a tour group?

Well I guess it's mostly the alcohol..

I have anxiety disorder and dread being in a group of strangers, so yeah - it really sounds awful to me.

And I'm feeling pretty judgmental when two Alice Cooper records Rhino screwed up at the pressing plant and pulled from release are now being attached to this thing as exclusives.

That being said, I'll likely try it this year. Maybe I won't even find it awful.

And, as I saw this I was thinking going to a record store at the same time a bus load of other record buyers is going is precisely, exactly the time I do not want to go. I've been to record stores in Tokyo on busy, crowded days and competing with other buyers who're frantically filing through the bins isn't any fun if you ask me. I try to go on weekdays during working hours if at all possible to try to avoid those people who are after the same types of things I am.

Given the listing of discount locations, looks like the NYC "crawl" is limited to Brooklyn only. Sold out.

The term for a group of people doing a celebratory "crawl" comes from bar crawls. Meaning, literally, you get so drunk you have to crawl to the next bar.

Alcohol is the last thing I'd want to consume when scouring the bins for records. Add to that the competition from everyone else...could get nasty.

Labels and colors were mixed up between the two titles. The whole batch had to be recalled before it hit stores, although some did get out.
