    I've never trodden that far. I daren't!

I love Queen. I love Free. Paul Rodgers is a great singer. Queen are a great band. They've wrote loads of great songs.

    What could possibly go wrong?!

I'll probably get heat for this, but from what I've seen Adam Lambert is a much better choice. He has some of Freddy's flamboyance and theatrics. Paul is a great singer, but he just wasn't the right fit for Queen.

His cover of It Hurts Me Too on Self Portrait is fantastic. We also got New Morning from those sessions, one of my favourite Dylan albums. I love hearing Bob sounding happy.

Haha- any of Elvis's soundtrack records are a very safe bet for "critically lambasted".

  9. Return Of The Champions was mainly old Queen without Freddie. Why would anyone want to listen to that when thay can listen to old Queen with Freddie?

On The Cosmos Rocks Queen + Paul Rogers got into some new territory and I think it's a reasonably good album.

"Done with Mirrors" didn't get lambasted. It even got a B+ from Robert Christgau :)

"Beatles for Sale" doesn't have a good reputation, but it's damned good if you ask me, but then again: I'm a Looooser.

It was a ridiculous mis-match. Roger Taylor & Brian May then insisted that Free were one of Freddie Mercury's favourite bands to justify it. Possibly true, but Freddie never mentioned them in interviews.

Beatles For Sale has always been one of my favourites. There are a lot of great songs that are relatively underplayed by Beatles standards. The only two duffers are Mr. Moonlight and Honey Don't. The rest is excellent.

I only listened to it as a curiosity, to see if it was as bad I feared it would be. It was actually worse.

    Robert Plant: Shaken N Stirred.

When this came out, it was total shock and awe. I had to look at the album sleeve to make sure I purchased the correct album, by the correct artist! But over the years, it grew on me. It doesn't hurt that it is also a great sounding record and Plant is in great voice.

You just picked two songs that I often sing out loud at random moments. Mr. Moonlight I like to sing in full. "AWWWWW, Honey Don't!" is just a useful and singable turn of phrase (yet I just say it for no reason anyway)!

I'll add Roger's compositions: Action This Day and Calling All Girls. Love those tracks, granted I prefer the live version of 'Action' from Milton Keynes but still very good.
