    Awesome!

What is the story with Cottonfields? I dont think ive ever heard it.

And as much as I love Mumbo, it took some balls to unleash that onto a paying crowd. But is does indeed rock. If he wrote coherent lyrics Mumbo might be among his best solo rock songs,

    Thanks for sharing this.

I don’t know, but I think he may have been able to afford his own by this time.

  4. Is John the only Beatle to be known to have "nicked" musical instruments/equipment?
(Not that I'm implying that that's how Paul got that guitar...)

If anything Wild Life is a little "bright" in the high end, but it sounds pretty good to me, especially for 1971.

Can't possibly be one of John or George's. John's first was stolen at the end of 1963 and his second was repainted, sanded down to it's natural finish and is now kept within the Lennon estate. George gave his away eventually, but contradicting reports indicate as still in the Harrison family possession.

George's Gretsch Tennessean and his second 360/12 were also reported stolen. As well as Paul's first Beatle bass.

For some reason unbeknownst to me I decided to give this a spin tonight. Now, I know this'll never knock Revolver out of any top ten polls, but I for one (today, in 2018, with all the Beatles together and solo at my disposal) am certainly glad he released this LP. Its pleasant and non-offending to my ear. I'd rather have this than to have to wait 5 years between Macca masterpieces. If that sounds like a half hearted endorsement, so be it.

I’ve always considered this a weak album but am sitting, listening to it now and side 2 is really good. It’s a short album but it is quality stuff... going to listen to side 1 now

A reissue would be nice. For now, I'll spin my old copy today.

On songs like Some People Never Know or Love Is Strange it just seems they felt like keeping the tape rolling, whatever the outcome. It can work wonders, especially on the latter.

Well, after all this IS an album that's defiantly unfinished...

And it was recorded during the sessions for the Ram album! (Although some overdubs may have been added for the final version on Wild Life).

I have a lot of "all time favorites" by McCartney, Beatles and others but since we are talking about Wild Life here are three of them Some People Never Know, Dear Friend,
    Tomorrow.

That's weird, because in the RAM book, talking about the "war of songs" with John, Paul says that Dear Friend was his answer to How Do You Sleep. But RAM came out before Imagine...

I know there's a ton of Wild Life lover's out there but other than Driving Rain and Press To Play this has got to be the worst thing Paul was ever involved in. Just not for me. Huge Paul fan here but no.

Wild Life is an amazing album! The worse thing he did is Give My Regards To Broadstreet. Driving Rain is very good, but Press To Play is rather weak.

Interesting, but it doesn't change anything about what I think of Wild Life or Dear Friend.

I rarely trust anyone's memory 40 years after the fact.

Personally, I think "Bip Bop" was Paul's answer to John's "How Do You Sleep"... ;)
