Hmm. And Dances with Wolves beat Goodfellas and Ordinary People beat Raging Bull. Nevertheless, consider me intrigued. I'll look into them.
By Your Side is SONY, and it's also out of print, AND it is also in dire need of a 'sonic facelift' if you will... What if we start there and see what happens??
I mentioned this one before, Eugene McDaniels, Headless Heroes of the Apocalypse. Eugene McDaniels - Headless Heroes Of The Apocalypse Atlantic records, 1971. Over 1200 "wants" on discogs, with a median sale price of $107.35. Funkky urban soul, with some jazzy elements (one of the funkiest drummers, Alphonse Mouzon, RIP). It would sell like hot cakes. Someone will get to it eventually!
I’d buy any Black Crowes albums released. The last round off reissues was a huge disappointment. Same for Counting Crows, too. The AAEA AP release is great but the Recovering the satellites reissue is pretty bad.
Speaking of psych-pop projects, has anyone requested Rain Parade's "Third Rail"? That might work as a "Nice Price" entry...
@IR Shane Brian Eno & John Cale - Wrong Way Up Never pressed in the States. Really, really needs a reissue. Feels perfect for Intervention.
Shane - any interest in the Plimsouls' "Everywhere at Once"? I've never heard a great sounding version of this album, and it seems to fall in your wheelhouse. Keep up the great work!
A couple of other 1980s classics that need good vinyl remasters: Echo & The Bunnymen - Porcupine and especially: Psychedelic Furs - Forever Now, which suffers from the same polarity issue that marred XTC - Skylarking, because both were recorded at Todd Rundgren's home studio. My pristine Dutch pressing and my US pressing both sound cold & distant, lacking in bass.
SACDs of both (or either) would be fine with me. But I suspect there is a lot more involved with scheduling a SACD release.
Another album that deserves the Intervention treatment (“nice price” maybe) is Dennis Linde “Linde Manor”. It was released 1970 on Intrepid, a sublabel of Mercury. To my knowledge this gem has never been rereleased. One of my all time favourite albums that deserves more attention. Here is one of many great songs on the album:
Please try to get rights to put out the entire Spiritualized Catalog on SACD & Vinyl. Then look into Suede's first 4 albums and SciFi Lullibies B-Sides album. Thanks Shane
