I have a special place in my heart for the Kinks. I think that one could make the case that they influenced at once the more bombastic (via their early hits) and more reflective branches of rock music.

Awesome story! I love hearing stuff like that. Really cool. You are now a part of Kinks history.

I love every era of this band, even those last 2-3 studio releases.

I have a soft spot for the Kinks Kronikles (spelling?). I picked that up on cassette (egads) when I was about 17.

I liked most albums (at least somewhat) up through about Sleepwalker, and then kind of lost interest.

Must admit I never got into Preservation and all of its acts.

    An obsessive fixation!
Bingo! Not his most clever IMO, but he gets the sentiment across more succinctly than some movies with the same situation.

"Nice" is the last word I would use to describe the brightest, most compressed and ugly-sounding box set ever released. Thanks Ray!

Just got done listening to Sleepwalker for the 3rd or 4th time since receiving it a few weeks go. Man, that's a really strong record. No songs I would skip over. And of course the title track and Jukebox Music are both total Kinks klassics.

Yeah, Waterloo Sunset is one of the few perfect pop rock songs ever written. There's nothing you could do to it to make it any better than it is.

Another all-era Kinks fan here. Ray had brilliant songs from the beginning through to the under-rated Phobia, and Dave was pretty good himself.
The best band of the invasion, for me.
