Did a search and couldn't find anything on this. New billboards in London: Carlene de Bourg on Twitter GNR website countdown playing an unreleased outtake: https://www.gnr.fm/#/ 30th Anniversary reissue / deluxe box set? Mitch Lafon thinks so: Mitch Lafon on Twitter
Saw this few hours before. There's also a rumour all original members will reunite for a bunch of gigs, which I doubt though. Btw it actually must be the 31th anniversary of the album now.
Would love to see a deluxe reissue. A few years ago, it seemed like an impossibility, but because both Slash and Duff are back in the camp, it seems like Axl may be more willing to compromise. Probably still a long-shot, though.
AFD deluxe anniversary edition Metallica Style??, Awesome!! All original members gigs? , Epic !! Axl/Slash will find a way to messed up any chance of this happening?, Standard!!
Correct, it was released in 1987. If they do promote it as an anniversary edition they will probably tie it to the 30th anniversary of the album reaching #1, which did occur in 1988.
The album itself already sounds great. Plus after 30 years of hearing the songs I never listen to the thing anyway. One of my favorite albums ever but I'm way burnt out in it. As far as the extras and demos and whatever...I can't imagine what they could put on there that fans haven't heard. I don't know..if it's something great I'll check it out but I expect it to be underwhelming.
No need for remastering. The original CD smokes. I would appreciate an affordable copy of Live From The Jungle.
I had a look at the website in the link and a bunch of cities are all marked with a purple dot. Interesting. I thought it might be an indication of shows to be played but the city of Toronto has two dots and neither location is a venue. One is a Hooters restaurant and the other a public square.
The dots indicate the location of promotional billboards. The idea is you go out and find it, and then tweet or instagram it with a certain hashtag.
I have yet to hear it, what about the MFSL is different/better than the Diament mastering if I may ask? Just curious!
I wondered that same thing! Like they are super small venues or something. At any rate it's fun to watch.
so going to gnr.fm brings up a little different splash screen for me. The dudes faces are all fleshing rapidly. When I click on it I get the same sample clip of Axl screaming something about kerosene as the other link posted earlier. I'm thinking some demos very nice to get some extra stuff from that time.
From a PC it says to go there from your mobile device. You do that and it looks like you pick your character then broadcast, via twitter/ etc...
The track is called shadow of your love but it sounds different than the officially released bsides. A deluxe set would be pretty amazing.
I'd be interested for high quality sounding demos from that era. Including the early versions of 'November Rain' and 'Don't Cry'. Generally a box set would be nice.
Wasn't this one of the songs that got fake audience noises as on the Live Like A Suicide EP? If I'm not wrong the version I mean was the b-side of their first single (on 12'' vinyl) 'It's So Easy'.
