MoV are hit and miss for me. This is meant to sound pretty compressed but would be good to hear some reviews on here...

Not really blown away by the new song yet, but hopefully that will change.

    Same here. It's quite slow.
Although, I do remember not being so keen on the first single from the last album either (not sure if it was "Stone" or "Hollow"?) but I enjoyed that one once I listened to the full thing.

Much as I try, I just can’t get into the current version of the band - not only because of the lack of Layne’s incredible vocals, but because the songwriting well seems to have run dry. They clearly aim for mood in their music - and succeed there - but there is just a distinct lack of anything resembling a memorable melody in any of it. The songs are all sludgy, drudge and all very similar. Sure there are little differences in riffs, tempo and rhythm, but the songs are all essentially the same.

That said, I’m sure I’ll pick up the new one when it’s released - why stop now

The same here. I keep trying, but they just don't do it for me. Not saying they aren't talented, they are, but the music just doesn't do it for me.

Three years later and Facelift and the self titled are still not reissued.

For anyone put off by the squashed dynamics on the prior album "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here", the new hi-rez (24bit/96khz) release sold at HD-Tracks is significantly more dynamic and sounds excellent! There are some posts about it in the current hi-rez release thread. Also see the DR Database entries for the album.

$24.79 is 20% off? I don't think so. Its listed at $17.98 at HD-Tracks and with one of their 10% off codes, you can get it even cheaper. That price at prostudiomasters makes no sense. They have it set as a $30 list price album. Maybe they've bumped it up.

For me, the link I posted says it’s $14.39 CAN. That’s how much I payed for it. At the checkout it said it was 20%.

I bought it when it first came out and with a 10% discount it still was over $50, I believe list was $59.99. Either Elusive Disc or Acoustic Sound I got it from.

It’s a joke much better the High Rez version sounds.
Do you know any other hard rock albums worth getting in High Rez?
