I've done enough comparisons between the sites that it's not so cut-and-dried. Some music items are cheaper on DD than ImportCDs, though it can be quite maddening finding any rhyme or reason between the two sites' respective pricing on the same item. And once in a great while, the price will be cheaper on their eBay outlet than either of their own websites.
and for new domestic releases CCMusic is usually their cheaper site. Deep Discount is usually the cheapest for new imports (especially MOV titles)
Today only, free shipping using code FLASH1. Doesn't apply to heavy items, and they have free shipping at $25 anyway, but I ordered two Warner Archive movies in the $11-$12 range and didn't have to worry about finding a "get me over item" to hit the $25 mark. So, it was worthwhile to me, and maybe will be to others, too. It's a one-time use coupon.
I've been building up quite the wantlist since the last code! The latest Cars reissue CDs are $9.34 each with discount.
....actually, scratch that, they cancelled the order. Allegedly out of stock, I suspect it was a pricing error.
Thank you @Reese , I just ordered season 8 of Shameless on Blu ray, and pre-ordered the Criterion Collection print of Midnight Cowboy. My Chase Freedom card gave me another 5% off for using Pay Pal.
I just did a comparison between 25 identical items, including shipping, at DD and ImportCDs, using the 15% off discount on the former and the upcoming 10% off on the latter. DD = $431.79 ImpCDs = $378.04 Shipping to Canada was $1 less at DD
What is the 10% off code for ImportCDs (and when is it running)? Don't 4get though to factor in the postage on ImportCDs prices. For USA orders DD will be free is you order over $25 but Import CDs charges something like $3 for first item then $1.50 for each additional one (I do not recall their exact shipping charges but it is something like that).
They will announce the code. Usually later in May and November. My numbers included totals to Canada. ($5 base fee + $2 per item.)
I'd love to know how that compares to their eBay pricing as well. I haven't figured out how their pricing matrices differ between the sites -there's little rhyme or reason as to why some items cost more on one site than the other.
Alliance owns both as well as WOWHD, which has the highest prices of the three. Maybe they like to eliminate competition by buying them up.
