The only way not to spoil a commercial performance these days is to release the whole thing online at once. AOR no longer works and people rarely buy CDs. We are the last men standing.

I was just thinking that “Come Home to You” reminded me of another McCartney single “(I want to) Come Home”. I bought that single on iTunes when it was released and it has disappeared - not only from my iTunes library, but from iTunes/Apple Music altogether! Anyone else notice that or know why?

Probably rights issues. That single was released by EMI, and he was on Hear Music at the time.

Again, this is why I buy physical media. It doesn't magically disappear when the artist changes record companies.......

 

I'm not saying it was an illegal release or anything, but EMI's right to lease the song probably ran out. Or something like that. Just an uneducated guess on my part.

 

Which also translates into them doing a terrible job of keeping his fans informed as to the progress Paul has been making on this album.

I could be wrong but I think “(I want to) Come Home” was only available as a download and was not included on the movie soundtrack.

We only knew a tiny bit more about New before it was announced. The notion that the current level of secrecy is unusual seems like spin from wannabe insiders who need an excuse for not knowing anything.

 

My McCartney obsessed Uncle visits my house maybe once or twice a year at most. He happened to be here the (Thurs)day that "New" was announced.

He's also due here tomorrow (Thursday 14th). Just sayin'........
