How's the sound on the 2014 Mono White album?

I completely agree. If the item was still in print and selling for MSRP or less, a sealed copy would be desirable. However, with the item now out of print and selling for well above the original MSRP, I would think anyone who would purchase a copy at this point would be doing it to actually listen to it since resale/flipping would not really be feasible at today's purchase price.

I need to update my 80's Capitol Reissue and saw it the other day at a shop for $33. I'll snag it this week, thanks!

Not really, the problem is that you cannot trust human nature, while there'll be some that do the right thing and actually tell the truth, there are going to be plenty more sellers outright lying about doing exactly that (checking). When it is more likely they got the record in a second hand bin and because the shrink wrap is still attached they feel they have the right to make up such story, you see them all the time, sometimes even with the bad blurry photos you can tell that the played "once only " record has been through war.

Do yourself a favor - grab as many as you can while they're around. I do find the 82 Japan's slightly more "round", but you can't beat the clarity. All depends on your system.

That’s why it will be local. We can both go through it and everybody be satisfied. I’d feel better about paying top dollar for that if I was looking. No way I’d send this box out.

It's a difficult one, on one hand I wouldn't be very keen to sell that through Ebay but when you sell locally you are limiting the potential for the sale, might work out better when you live in a big city.

Let's just say that if you like the WA in mono, you'll be impressed by the 2014 cut. :righton:

Isn't that a crime? :wtf:

I saw the White Album, Mono Masters and possibly Abbey Road not sure, but I'll grab those if possible.

What's a good Sgt. Pepper upgrade from a Purple label 80's reissue? They had a few Pepper albums like the picture disc lp and possibly a 50th year anniversary pressing if I remember correctly. . No mono unfortunately.

The purple label should be fine as it is.

Stereo: the 50th anniversary 2LP is a great collectors item. The sound is clear but some songs sound a bit, strange. I would go 70's-80's 2 box.

    Mono - 82 red wax or 2014

Let's think about the joys... and heartaches...of a 2019 repress.

I’d much rather see a AAA set of stereo albums than a mono repress.

Considering that the over half of sold listings on ebay are over $100, I don't know that I'd say they "usually" sell for much less.

Whatever the case, I'm happy I'm not looking for one of these now.

Would be great but I can't imagine that would be profitable for them at this point in time.

Why not? There are plenty of albums that get reissued every couple of years. Think “Kind Of Blue”. How many reissues of that on vinyl have cropped up over the last few years?
And this is the Beatles ! Most of us have bought the stuff 15 times over. And we will again.
