I liked older Travolta better than younger, but I'll watch most anything he's in...my wife and I are fans...

  4. Man's got to eat. He has his debts and he may not be an A list actor anymore. You can only accept work for projects where it is offered.

Still enjoy Cage's movies, glad he's in good health and able to meet the physical demands of the roles he plays in these films.

Nicholas Cage is the best thing in a lot of terrible movies, he's also the best thing in a few great ones.

I think Nic just enjoys making goofy exploitation flicks. What often makes him so great is his utter commitment to the roles, even in crazy stuff like 'Drive Angry'. This is a guy who did an Elvis impersonation for an entire movie. Interestingly, his latest Grindhouse offering, Mandy, is getting great early reviews.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned 2007's Next which was on Netflix for a while but that is one strange movie and his performance is very distracting (and I am a Cage fan).

He's been acting in films since at least 1985.
He did several top notch films according to The Academy and the box office.
Actors cannot make excellent films forever.
New blood comes in and gets the best rolls.
They all end up doing B movies eventually.
It's not a fall, it's just the way it is.

I'm waiting for the inevitable team-up between Nicholas Cage and Johnny Depp... because Johnny's on that same trip right now. $30K a month on wine? Come on.

    sorry, i disagree, it's a fall.

no one is forcing him to do the crap movies he is doing, he is doing them by choice.

it is never ever good when anyone does anything JUST for the money. nothing good can ever come of it.

Do you think a actor can run around Hollywood just picking and choosing scripts forever?
    It's not a choice.
    They have to fulfill contracts.
They often don't get asked to do potential blockbusters after a while.
Most actors just wanna work, period.

Unfortunately, yes. I suffered through it last night on Netflix. Atrocious acting, writing, and directing in my opinion. It's based on a Joyce Carol Oates novel, and even if the pages were blank, it would have to be better! To each his own, I suppose.

Sorry, I meant high ticket films and truly having their top choice. Along with Nicolas, there's a huge amount of actors I grew up with that just don't get great films anymore.
    Nicole Kidman
    Liam Neeson
    De Niro
    Ewan
    John Cusak
    Lora Dern

Of course actors have agents that help them get work.

It's funny though how B movies do have a large cast of A listers sometimes.

I guess I didn't see your post where you gave the answer.

    He is lazy?
