As most of us do, I listen to music for many hours at a time and have never really found a great chair up to the task. Have considered the Eames lounge chair but haven't been able to justify the expenditure. What do you sit in?

I have nothing to add (other than an old rocking chair handed to the family from a deceased grandmother in law) but I’ve been researching and looking for a nice listening chair as well! Interested to see what others are using, please post pics!

To my shame I must confess using the couch in the living room.

Very rigid, metal chair with hard seat that has almost no padding... like a computer chair type thing without the swivel crap... at my computer, headphones most of the time, amp at my feet, speakers in a tight triangle to the chair.

People have commented how I can sit on it but I find it comfortable!? I'm a big boned guy so I sort of sit "over" it anyway

If I'm too comfortable/sunken in in a chair I can lose focus on what I'm listening to/watching for some reason.

I'm kind of fond of this one. It certainly works for the long listening session.

:agree: Pretty comfy and is great for power naps due to being able to recline a bit. You have to sample a few before committing though too because they don't all exactly feel the same.

I'm not sure we even have chairs like that in Australia, usually we just sit on crates... :sigh:

Seriously though I went a chair like the one you posted hunt a while back and couldn't find anything reasonably priced that suited.

Holy dinosaur days Batman! They're anywhere from $170, only partial leather to $600 full leather in Canadian $'s here. You guys don't have executive office chairs in Australia? :wtf:

I prefer the Ikea KLIPPAN loveseat, with an ottoman in front so I can elevate my legs.

I like the low back of this loveseat because my ears are well above the upholstery/cushioning, leaving them unimpeded versus (for example) a high-back sofa with plush cushioning that my head would sink into and start to obstruct the soundwaves getting to my ears.

Also, the flat arm-rests are great for placing remote controls. (A bit dangerous for balancing a beverage, but there's a side table with coasters in easy reach for that purpose.)

True dat! I found a soft, used low-rise sofa in a darker pattern for my listening room, and I really need to get some risers to make it about 3-4" taller. Comfortable enough, but you sink. And you drag the nearby cusihions down with it, so the remotes and whatever you have sitting next to you, slide down to get set on underneath you. Problem is...I really love the pattern!

Like my office chair for headphone listening, though...rises the height I want without it sinking down, and it's not too snug. Wife, on the other hand, hates to use it when we watch shows on the monitor.

I went through many of these a while back but most felt flimsy/creaky/crappy/not holdy-uppy under much use-ey.

    Executive Chairs | Officeworks

There's nothing at officeworks anyway I can see that approaches the look of the quality of the one you posted.

Good quality anything in general is difficult to find in Australia, and if it IS good quality it's pricey.

Don't quote as I've had mine for about 12 years now, but I think I did buy it from Office Depot for around $250. I actually preferred the way it feels over the $600 Lazy Boy that was there.

I cannot find a good chair!!! (We can send men and women t the moon, but...)

I need height in legs and back, I haven't got a lot of space so I want the smallest footprint possible.

They mostly want to sell things that are very fat, or too soft, and have a short back :(

Poang for me. I put a couple pillows on it to get my ears up above the back and at proper height, and I'm 6' 2".

I used to have a Poang too but it's very Roomba unfriendly.
