It still sounds about the same as it did. Even the different pressings and remasters.

lol late to the party but I stopped with 18. I wasn't really crazy about anything after Champlin came on, and Scheff never interested me. That being said, I did really like "Now"

I haven't got the latest album yet but think I have all the others.
Just had a count up I've got 27 albums.
Didn't think it was that many.

I bought the first three at the time of original release and IV 40 years later. I picked up V, VI and VII on CD sometime in the 90s and that was it.

That there is a drop off of some sort is pretty obvious to me but there is something about buying music at the time of its creation. I’m not sure what that is.... an awareness of the times, the other releases from that time, your own personal situation. I dunno, I’m waffling a little but for me it’s the albums I bought at their original release that resonate strongest and to which I have the deepest ties.

I know many will disagree and I have found quite a few gems thanks to you guys that I missed at the time but as long as the music moves you, who cares?

Which brings me back to the first three - I love them... and the debut is in my all time top 50.

One last point; here in the UK, they were very definitely an “album band”. With the exception of 25 or 6 to 4, I don’t think I ever heard them on the radio.

CTA for me. But as many have already said, it was over once Kath died.

Don't really start until 16. Not desperately keen on XXXVI

I've got a few of the earlier records but they're a bit jazzier than I normally like though even I can tell the quality of the playing.

If You Leave Me Now was never off the radio at one point, but that dependson if you think of it as a real Chicago track or not!!!!

Now I stop at Hot Streets. I had no plans for the albums without Terry, but there are some songs I like.

I like how we are all different kind of....

I like all thier 70s studio albums except HOT STREETS (I didnt really care for any song on that album but Chicago 13 is excellent and thats where I stop)

Love the first two. Of an age at a tender age for me. 18 & 19.

After that, the 70's...lost the innocent rage of the innocent age for me. The long songs meant a lot on the first two LPs. Then, the jaded end of the golden age of rock (Altamont, the Manson murders). Somehow the long song on the 3rd LP rang hollow. Some great tunes on III, but just not the same as their first two masterworks. Album albums all the way. No fillers. Revolution & revolutionary rock that resonates, still, today.

Personally, I really only like CTA, but I will listen to other familiar cuts that have Terry Kath on them

Song For You is probably in my top 20 Chicago songs of all time.

Sweet but not sappy - great vocal from Cetera.

Tom Dowd mixed the bass wonderfully on that underrated "Thumbprint" album.

    It most definitely is.

I actually prefer it to If You Leave Me Now.
