Daniel Craig has done a good job as James Bond IMO but he can’t do it forever. At some point there needs to be a change. Which actor do you think can replace him and carry on the legacy?

Henry Cavill’s name has been thrown about for a few years and he has acted in some big films like Man Of Steel and MI:Fallout. He may be too young through. He’s only 35.

Idris Elba. I think he's the complete package and would be a perfect Bond. His name has been in the ring for the Bond role for several years.

Simon Pegg would make a great James Bond.

I read a blog where one person mentioned Clint Eastwood. Surely he would be too old?

Setting aside the issue of whether Bond’s ethnicity is essential to the character... Elba is only four years younger than Daniel Craig. He’d be 50 or close to it by the time he started playing Bond.

Tom Hardy perhaps, though it would be a shame to waste his talents on the role.

Fassbinder has the icy emotional distance down but I don't think he is enough of a brute. Fleming's Bond was sophisticated but a bit of a thug also and so far only Sean Connery and Daniel Craig have gotten that right. That's why the more fey actors like Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton haven't worked as well for me. Idris Elba is an interesting choice but I think he is already a little too old. I'm not really up on the hot actors these days so I have no idea who else might be good. Tough one to get exactly right. Maybe a complete nobody for a change.

I think seeing an older Bond could be quite interesting and make for an interesting script if they went about it the right way (think about something like Logan). Doctor Who has played around with different ages for the Doctor and that has worked quite nicely.

Plus, Idris Elba is still in exceptional shape, so I don't see many limitations in terms of Bond-type stunts.

Well, being in his 50s hasn't slowed down Tom Cruise... and of course there's movie trickery involved. But I don't know if 50 should be the starting point when you want your actor playing Bond for a few movies.... it's not just one film.

I like him in the MI movies but he's too old to take over Bond now.
