An absolute joke. John Prine.....but no Dave Matthews Band. No Alice in Chains, no Smashing Pumpkins, no Soundgarden. But thankfully we have Rufus featuring Chaka Kahn!!!

And the continuing march of the great, uncriticizable Dear Leader Janet Jackson continues.

Looking at the list, I actually think there’s some well deserved nominees this year.

For me I’d like to see inducted
    MC5
    Def Leppard
    Kraftwerk
    Todd Rundgren
    LL Cool J

Rage will eventually get in but imo some of the artists on the ballot should get in first.

Remember, this is supposed to be the "Hall of Fame." In my opinion, with each passing year, there are less and less candidates who are worthy. Sure, everyone on this list made some kind of name for themselves, which is a credit to them in a very tough industry. But "Hall of Fame" level? Todd Rundgren is my only choice from this list.

With all respect as good as Odessy and Oracle was - there's so many records that defined that sound and I can't feel like it was a major influence going forward - but in terms of just, a nice band, sure.

The Cure makes it, however they aren't the first one of their era that should be there... at least Joy Division and probably Ultravox (influence, not really the band itself mind you) should come before.

Finally, Radiohead wins for nice albums consistently, Kraftwerk for... a lot of things of course, and Roxy deserves the mention for consistency and trendsetting genre characteristics of the later era of glam rock and ahead.

At this point, Ian Anderson probably loves and embraces being the ultimate Rock iconoclast and outsider.
