Lots of bands/artists make 2 or 3 great albums but how many can still make a great 8th album?

First band I thought of when I saw the thread title but could not have said which their eighth album was. But in addition to number of albums it's how long this group has been together with the same three member nucleus. I saw them in Providence, RI last month and they were wonderful. The show was seamless with one composition morphing into another at times and Ira, Georgia, and James playing a variety of instruments sometimes within the same song. So both tightly rehearsed but with their usual moments, or even minutes, of ear cleaning improvisation. All of this on the second night of Rosh Hashonah. I think it must be about 35 years they've been together. Could they really be that old, or that young when they started?

This is very subjective - anyone who's a real fan of a certain band or artist with a decent (time wise) recording career would consider at least 8 of their albums great.

I wasn’t crazy about their eighth album, Experimental Jet Set..., but they made some great ones after that.

Please don't forget about The Boss!

    Bruce Springsteen
had eight classic albums in a row, from his first to his eighth, which I think is absolutely exceptional:

    Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ
The Wild, The Innocent, And The E Street Shuffle
    Born To Run
Darkness On The Edge Of Town
    The River
    Nebraska
    Born In the USA
    Tunnel Of Love

All eight albums currently have 4.5 or 5 star ratings on Allmusic. It's an unbelievable string of albums, and in my personal opinion, it has not been matched before or since!

Well.... since 2006 Beach House have made seven great albums and there's no reason why the eight should be a clunker!
