If length wasn't a red flag, and you removed the credit sequences from these movies, you couldn't tell they were two different movies after joining them together:

    Halloween & Halloween II

The Godfather & The Godfather Part II

Kill Bill Vol. 1 & Kill Bill Vol. 2

    ......are there any others?

I would say Back to the Future I and II (and III), except that the actress who played Marty's girlfriend in I had to be replaced in II and III, so it would look odd.

Also, regarding Godfather, I always thought that Diane Keaton was made up to look older at the end of I (see her makeup and hair), and then it was like she got younger again at the start of II.

Yeah, I get that, but the movies themselves blend into each other effortlessly.

Back in the early 90s, I made a VHS copy of the laserdiscs that "edited" the movies so they added up to one long film.

It wasn't flawless but it worked pretty good! I made it for a friend and he found it tough to notice where one movie ended and the next started!

Of course we all know that was supposed to be one movie, right?

Well, since the OP cited Kill Bill and you said The Three/Four Musketeers, I’m going with the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

There is also the TV-cut of the The Godfather I & II (released on VHS as “The Complete Epic”) that plays it in chronological order (and adds the deleted scenes). That plays the two movies even MORE seemlessly together!

I wish they’d release this version on BluRay. It’s my favorite way to watch it and my VHS copy is fading and I keep my VHS player stored away in a closet!

I suppose I could use some video editing software to try and recreate it myself.

There is an excellent broadcast version out there in HD of the Gadfather Saga. Taken from the same masters as the blu-ray.

    Theatrical or extended editions?

At one point Quentin was talking about making a mega edit of Kill Bill, but sadly that appears to have fallen by the wayside.

I haven’t seen the extended, so theatrical for me.

My wife and I went to Trilogy Tuesday, an event where we got to see the extended version of Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, followed by the premiere of Return of the King. They work wonderfully together as one giant film.

I have not tried this but I assume you could watch The Post and All the President's Men back to back especially since Spielberg bases his final Watergate break-in scene on the one in ATPM.

I'm pretty sure I'd toss in the movie Dick, with Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst.

They might make a good double feature but would they “play seamlessly as one movie”? Probably not.

I think the 40 years of developments in filmmaking that occurred between “Star Wars” and “Rogue One” also would keep those two from joining together seamlessly, especially when the newer movie comes first.

Same would go for "Darkest Hour" and "Dunkirk". Very logical double feature but not two films you could easily edit into one without an obvious shift...
