Please post pictures of said Dual in your lovely home to bring us back to the subject of this thread.
I have a couple of vintage Dual 1219's but they are not in service at present. I have two TT's currently in service, a modern Rega RP6 that has been upgraded and a Vinyl Nirvana Thorens TD-160 Super, with a Rega arm.
...and because nobody asked (but because I love y'guys...and want some forgiveness for gettin' deep in the weeds over y'all's gear!). Back on topic: Some of these were previously posted on a thread called "TV or no TV!?"
Your listening room with your fireplace and TV are totally awesome! I like all of the natural wood and the rock! And let's not forget your Eames chair. Great room to have one to relax in.
Beautiful space you've created. What a fun environment to listen to tunes. I'm sure it's always a good time hanging out there.
Wow! Does the Modsquad live there? That's as rockin' a mid-century modern setup, furniture and room as I've ever seen! Exquisite!
I am a Blessed man. My wife and I have a date tomorrow to crack open a sealed 41 year old Footloose & Fancy Free. I'm easily pleased by the big and the small.
when I posted my intro I mentioned that my phone takes inferior photos... and the images I provided were proof of that... the camera isn't that bad. a lot of it is operator error. I did manage to get a decent shot of my rig the other day. I figured i'd repost here... next time my buddy is over I'll borrow his phone... which is way nicer than mine... and try to get quality pics of everything... speakers etc... for now here's the main stack....
That’s the most outrageous post I’ve come across in this thread. You win! Congrats on...among other things....an amazing design aesthetic.
Thank you for your kind comments. It took three years to restore this 1951 home. One essential task was designing acceptable areas and systems for A/V. This is the first time I've used a central A/V system. I am very pleased with its operation during the three years we've lived here. An expert local company, Watch And Listen did all the wiring and installation. Earlier, in another thread, I posted the photo below. I'm posting it again in connection with this Reply: Some Pros: Seamless, reliable operation; Excellent-enough audio & video; Ease of service; No gear in the rooms, so no need to accommodate it or worry about people messin' with it. Some Cons: Long cable runs (My office is my highest-end music room. It is adjacent to the Rack Mechanical Room, but that's still 40' of cable length); Expensive. Below shows ALL the A/V that was in this home when I purchased it: The '68 Magnavox is cool, but...
LOL much more sophisticated than mine, but I have a little bit of racking/distribution happening as well. The cabling is an unkempt spiderweb laden disaster. I should post it here so you can all be appalled. One of my problems is that I didn't get enough rack installed so I have some stuff on the floor unracked under some stairs. Works fine but not very aesthetically pleasing.
Love the retro in the blender with modern. Very cool. I work for a low voltage integrator myself. I get to be in 20-50,000’ homes and just about every one is Italian, Tuscan old world decorated.... Not knocking anyone’s style, but I sure am tired of it. Your place is a breath of fresh air.
Without the extremely talented and hardworking experts I get to work with, nothing would look as good or work as well as it does.
Ha! Yeah....you’ve upgraded the AV system a bit. Amazing renovation design! The fireplace “wall” alone is so perfectly done.
I know porn is not allowed here BUT this thread should be renamed "audio porn XXX - enter at your own risk" really awesome thread, love it!!
