What songs would you use? (Apologies if this has been covered before, a search for "kiss solo" didn't turn anything up)

    ACE
    Rip it Out
    Snow Blind
    Ozone
    Wiped Out
    Fractured Mirror

    PAUL
    Tonight You Belong to Me
    Ain't Quite Right
    Take Me Away
Hold Me, Touch Me, Think of Me
    Goodbye

    GENE
    Radioactive
    See You Tonite

    PETER
    ??????????

Yeah, you need all the songs from Ace's album. Plus "Radioactive", "Tossin' & Turnin'", and whatever couple rockers that are on Stanley's album.

Well, they did issue a "Best of the Solo Albums" LP in some territories, though I was never crazy for the tracklisting. There was also a promo sampler with two tracks from each album.

Although this might be 2 songs too long for your average Kiss LP in 1978, something like this would have made an excellent album, IMO:

    Side 1:

    Tonight You Belong To Me
    Rip It Out
    Mr. Make Believe
Wouldn't You Like To Know Me
    What's On Your Mind
Take Me Away (Together As One)

    Side 2:

    It's Alright
    Radioactive
    Snowblind
    Man Of 1000 Faces
    I Can't Stop The Rain
    Goodbye

That's 5 from Paul Stanley's album, 3 from Ace's, 3 from Genes, and 1 from Peter's. While I rank Ace's album at least as high as Paul's, I'm trying to be realistic as to what a Kiss album would have included at the time....

If it would have been an officail KISS release, you can bet that it would have been made up of half Gene and Paul songs with one each from Peter and Ace.

I was thinking the same thing. To me, that's the only really memorable song.

    Probably true.

I was thinking of Ace's three lead vocals and two writing credits on Dynasty....but it was probably due to the success of his solo album that he got that, huh?

Yeah, "New York Groove" should be on there....knock "Radioactive" off my LP....or the Peter song. He doesn't need anything on there, his album is pretty weak.

The best song on ANY of the four albums in my opinion!

Around '79 a "Best of Solo Albums" LP was released in (I think) Germany. No idea which songs are on it, but if I remember correctly, each band member got half an LP side.
    Not on CD, of course.

    Best, Sytze

You could knock off Radioactive and replace I Can't Stop the Rain with You're The Kind of Sugar Papa Likes.

:agree: Agreed! Easily the weakest track on Ace's solo album, IMO.

Its gotta have "New York Groove"!!

I've always liked Gene and Ace's solo albums.
Paul's and Peter's not so much.

I was always shocked how un-rockin' Paul's album was.....too ballad heavy. Nothing like "Love Gun".

Mr. Make Believe is the best song the Beatles never wrote. It belongs on HELP.

Peter's album is great as is side 2 of Paul's.
