Nah, not a big fan of her so don't have that one - have one of the DCC's somewhere.

First gold I've bought from the new Mofi, I have got a few SACD's though.
I have high hopes now for the Little Feat.

Received mine last night. Original long gone in the LP purge but this edition seems very natural. I like what MFSL have done on Linda and now ABB looking foward to Little Feat.

why does this and many other MoFi releases show up on Amazon with no picture, no sound samples, and no notes about what it is -- how would the average consumer ever stumble on this?

  4. You'll want to add it to your wish list. It's out of stock.

  5. I should qualify my last post--it's on backorder at the Mofi website. It's still available at Musicdirect and CD Universe. Couldn't find it at all at amazon.com. They only had the japanese import coming out in Sept.

I listened today and I do prefer it over my original Polydor disc. Another winner from Shawn Britton. Bring on the Little Feat.

I got mine a couple of days ago, it sounds great. There is no clipping, it sounds like I remember it sounding, except I don't remember Midnight Rambler fading like that, but it could just be me.
When I first heard of these new mini lp covers I thought, Oh no, don't do that, but I have to admit I like this mini lp cover of ABB, it even has the same rough consistency that the original Album had, so I guess I will wait and see before I get too excited about it. I can read the title with these old eyes when it's in my cd rack and it takes up less space.
I got it from one of our own, jonifan. You get a discount if you are a SH Forum member, so.......... check him out.

I got this today and echo the comments regarding the great sound quality.

I wonder why they didn't make this a SACD?

Elephant in the room: I'm afraid that if these gold discs are so successful soundwise, MOFI will have no incentive to make SACDs anymore. :shh:

True, but hopefully there is room for both. I'll take great sounding discs whatever the (digital) format.

    Can you say licensing issues?

We've covered this many many times before.

I've only listened to Idlewild on my little system so far but I was favourably impressed, twice so far. Now, I wish they'd do the Allmans' first album with the original rougher sounding mix that I so miss having a good copy of.....

Yeah, I seem to recall some of it. I guess getting the Mofi Milt Jackson SACD last month made me assume they would be doing mainly SACDs. I thought they made gold CD's (like the Lennon ones using Yoko's remixes) when they were only given seperately remixed/remastered versions.

Such as? I assume you are not a fan of the artists they have released so far this year?

I cant really think of a time that MFSL has been more consitent in good title selections myself. Of course, you cant please everyone. But there for awhile they werent pleasing anyone. kudos to mofi.

I mean the Allman Brothers arguably best album and little feets debut? And now one of Rush's best albums? And as far as I can tell the opinion is the SQ is pretty darn good to say the least....

I think there doing pretty swell myself.

Having never heard this album, I'm going to roll the dice and order this one up soon. Sounds like it will be enjoyable.

Actually, I like the Allman Brothers. However, a 30 minute ablum seems like a rip off. A twofer would be more reasonable for the money. I will probably pick up this title at some point....but....

There have been many threads about titles that we would like to see Steve remaster. There has been a lot of good suggestions......

Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Doobies, Tull, etc.

I don't remember Idlewind South as a suggestion for Steve or even in the Fake DCC thread.

I don't think this title was on everyone's wish list to be remastered by Mofi or Steve......members here just seem to be hungry for any audiophile quality cd.....of any title. :agree:
