Well, I haven't seen any successfully reunion in the past.... I even can't remember me!

I speak for my favorite bands... reunions which failed:

    ELP (Black Moon tour)
Deep Purple (complete Steve Morse years)
    Black Sabbath (Ozzy 1998)
    Police (grandpas on stage)
    Blondie (puh...)
    Doors (oh my goodness!!!)
    Queen (Paul Rogers disaster)

The only reason... is money, money, money and making memories alive!

...maybe the only interesting reunion was Cream.

Lydon is hardly one to talk because he is just as much an irrelevant nostalgia grubbing dinosaur as the act he is slagging. Besides, The Police made five albums and last time I checked The Sex Pistols were still stuck on one.

    that's the same crap...

I didn't know the Sex Pistols happened... but same here: Johnny R. can't repeat the feeling from that time. Punk is history!!!

I thought the Simon & Garfunkel reunion was extremely successful.

In regards to all these reunion tours, I don't believe anyone was forced to attend, I know I wasn't. :p
Face it, many people payed the insane prices, went to the shows & enjoyed themselves. That Badfinger song about "a fool and his money" comes to mind...

I believe Mr. Rotten fully copped to their tour being about the money in the press, IIRC.

if you talk about the commercial aspect... I agree. But it was only a live reunion... same like Queen, Genesis or the upcoming Led Zep concert.

Not me! A dream come true. What was even better was the official Cream site had the MSG shows for upload. I don't think they realised it though. I got it before they took it off.:righton:

On one hand I saw the Police's show in Tampa and was bored stupid, while the Pistol's show I saw in '96 was great.

On the other hand, I really doubt Lydon took the time to listen to any of The Police's performances. His stature has granted him opportunities to use the press in ways that would get him dismissed as a troll were he confined to using the internet to express his opinions. After three decades it's tedious and predictable.

The Pink Floyd reunion at Live 8 (for four songs) was moving and mind-blowing in my humble opinion. I expect the same from Led Zepp.

Hey Mr. Lydon, what's sadder? 50-year-old Police or 50-year-old Sex Pistols?

I still would go see them both. :righton:

I enjoyed the show I saw...I don't see how it was "unsuccessful"...

There's nothing sadder than a paunchy 50-year-old pretending he's a punk. His act grew tired a long time ago.

Smashing Pumpkins reunion is one of the worst I've heard. Maybe it's because I used to be a big fan, but I couldn't imagine it being much worse than it is right now.

Maybe. I like outspoken people though. They often say things others are too scared to say.

You know if the Police reunion was in '96 instead of '07 they might have been as good as the Pistols? Maybe the '07 Pistols will bore you now?

    PiL made a few though.

  25. I dunno; I think the resulting album is OK, certainly a lot better than Zwan.

Anyway, as for successful reunions: I don't think you can do much better than Dinosaur Jr. Just as good now as they were in the 80s.
