For those complaining about the BS box not containing entire albums.....take comfort in the fact that this happens extremely often with many artists. If the entire albums were included in the box set, the individual album CD sales would plummet.

It's like the CREAM set. A couple key album cuts were omitted or presented in alternate form. It's silly to have used cd stores flooded albums that cut into future sales.

On the topic of Neil's EGO and quirky career moves, is David Geffen the only person to turn their back on him?

The 'Sugar Mountain Canterbury House 1968' is now listed on amazon.com with cover art.
It's a Archives Performance Series release.

Interesting, I was expecting this to be one disc for some reason. Anybody have the scoop on the tracklisting?

I hope at least that comes to pass.

  13. It is a CD and DVD package.
Here is the latest Warner listing for November 25th release:
NEIL YOUNG Sugar Mountain - Live At Canterbury House 1968 Reprise (CD/DVD) 2 516578

The tracks, culled from the Nov. 9th & 10th performances would offer us the possibility of...

    On The Way Home
    The Old Laughing Lady
    Mr Soul
    Expecting To Fly
    The Last Trip To Tulsa
    The Loner
    I Am A Child
    I've Been Waiting For You
    Broken Arrow
    Birds
    Nowadays Clancy Can't Even sing
    Out Of My Mind
If I Could Have Her Tonight
Flying On The Ground Is Wrong
    Sugar Mountain

Wow... as a casual fan there are a few of those songs I've not heard before, but all the rest are fantastic songs!

So here it is - if this comes out, I'll buy it and - based on how these things usually go with me - surely it will be announced that this will be reissued as part of the Archives set to be released only a month later.

Neil's solo version of Clancy is outstanding, as is Expecting to Fly. Can't wait for this.

Are those all solo acoustic performances?

  17. I would be seriously peeved if that were to turn out to be the case.

I'll definitely be buying this on release day - even if the track list varies from what is listed above. I just hope this one happens and is not "postponed" into a black hole.

The appeal of that is that it's a setlist that predates most of Neil's in-concert warhorses... should be interesting.

Because of Neil Young's reputation for cancelling CD & DVD releases, I'm not preordering "Sugar Mountain Live". First, let's see if it's for real.

Actually, his record for releases EXTRACTED from the Archives is pretty good. Fillmore and Massey Hall both were released as announced.
