    Nope wasnt there, sorry.
T.H.E. stand's for the high end show where you can listen and see Steves Wavac amp used for mastering among other display's. Used to be a big todo but not this year.

The MFSL seems to have better dynamics than any of the other versions I own. Listen especially to "Right On," where the drums kick back in after the "love is king" bit.

Listening to my disc right now. Another fantastic MoFi release!

This is the Detroit mix, yeah?

If so, an even more irresistible reason to get it!

I don't have it yet, but I seriously doubt Mobile Fidelity would use the Detroit mix. It was done earlier than the L.A. mix, but it wasn't the "approved" mix, and not released until this millenium. :)

Just to be clear, the MFSL is the LA mix, not the (earlier and initially rejected) Detroit mix, which is still only available on the DE.

I'd guess CD for him. Check his equipment profile.

Both sound fine, SACD is better though. Bring on the second title.

The vinyl is not out yet.

If someone is looking for the SACD right now, Karmapolice has a copy fs in the classifieds.

    1) Just got it today from Amazon. It sounds amazing. Probably the best version I've heard. Wish all of Motown sounded this great
    2) Packing is horrible. I wish Steve and Audio Fidelity would stay away from this type of packaging. I want my cd in one of those snap in holders....not protected by a piece of paper
    3) So universal licenses out to MFSL a SACD. Just curious....which music companies are still refusing to print sacd? Is WB the only one?

Why do you mention Steve and Audio Fidelity releasing discs in this type of packaging. I don't believe they ever intend to. Did you hear differently?

    Is this a Stereo-only SACD?

I have the Marvin Gaye Collection DVD-audio and SACD that has What's and Mercy is surround sound.

Stereo-only, alas. What I wouldn't give for a 5.1 mix of the whole album. Although, having said that, I wasn't a huge fan of the 5.1 mixes of those two songs...

I was at Walmart today and say many cds being packaged like this. I see a horrible trend starting. So I am asking Audio Fidelity not to package disks like MFSL is doing.`

  19. Second that. :agree:

I just received my copy from Amazon today, too. It sounds fantastic. I also really like the packaging; it's not the typical digi-pak. It's just like a gatefold LP, and the CD is even in its own sleeve just like an LP. The insert has a blurb about their 24 karat gold discs like someone else mentioned.

I just received my copy today from tower.com and finished listening for the first time a few minutes ago. My first impression is very good. I'm glad that one of my favorite albums of all time has finally received an audiophile digital release.

Can't imagine what improvment it would be over the previous SACD, except perhaps availability. Or maybe less channels?

I can't wait to find out, the 5.1 means nothing to me and the other Marvin Gaye MFSL is incredible.
