Nothing irritates me more. I have started ignoring release dates also. I note the release on me little pad... and forget about it until it finally is actually released.

It has brought my blood pressure down quiet a bit.

RTI is backed up. Everything is coming out late.

Any official update on a release date yet? Their site still says Dec 2008.

Nope. You just have to wait ;)

I guess they are holding the SACD until the LP is ready to go? RTI being backed up explains the LP delay but why not put the CD out?

Maybe this excerpt (with my emphasis) from this article might be part of the reason for the delay:
And that was 2 years ago, before the present economic meltdown.

I was under the impression the Sony plant in Terre Haute and discontinued pressing SACDs altogether with the only manufacturers now residing in Europe (Philips in Austria being one of them IIRC) and Japan.

Well, it's about time. I just received an email with a UPS tracking number for a package from Music Direct that is on its way to me. That can only be the SACD for Fool For The City.

Yahoo! I can't wait to get my mits on this one.

Yea, I noticed earlier they showed it as shipping in 24 hours, so ordered that and a 5 pack of dvd-audio cases. Disgusting prices though, but it's availability that counts.

I still have an order waiting on tower.com for under $20 which I probably shouldn't cancel since they already shipped the other item on the order (hate it when they do that) since they may add shipping charges for the item that shipped. I may just go ahead and cancel it anyway.

I see Mofi have added the Doobie Brothers- Toulouse Street SACD and also Linda Ronstadt's- Hasten Down the Wind for releasing in March to their site.

Now I am starting to get exicited.

I noticed CD Universe has the Foghat title as "No Longer Available." Hmm.

I think MOFI is playing another one of those "Available now at audiophile websites, available in 2 months on amazon and elsewhere" games like they did with one of the Pixies SACDs.

They got all confused about my order since the billing address on my credit card is a PO Box and the shipping address is a street address (required for UPS delivery). I don't think it has even been shipped yet. Maybe they need to hire a web developer.

They do prefer to ship UPS but they will ship to a PO Box as well if asked. I have never had a problem with them.

I'd rather have the UPS delivery. USPS is real slow lately. Their website is messed up. If I changed my billing address the shipping address would change to be the same, and vice versa. Very strange.

They did manage to ship it and I've got the tracking number. It's due to arrive Wednesday, along with a set of 5 somewhat overpriced super jewel cases (5 for $7.99).

Hopefully mine is on the way, I don't get tracking with USPS of course.

Just listened to the SACD layer and it is sounds very good. Warm, analog sound IMHO. Great transfer and mastering. It's one of those you can turn up loud too! Going back for more.

I just picked mine up from Music Direct. I find it to be a bit too bright for my taste.

Sean, ( and realize its a bit apples to oranges) but can you compare it to the vinyl if and when you are able?

Do you mean the original vinyl or the Mofi vinyl? The Mofi vinyl hasn't been released yet.
