    I need everybody's help. My wife is looking for love songs about the love of things, or even ideas, but not people. So far we've come up with "I'm in Love with My Car" by Queen and "She Loves my Automobile" by ZZ Top. Any love songs dedicated to pants, furniture, paperweights.....?

    The Beach Boys - "Ballad of Ole' Betsy":

    "She was born in '32, and was she ever pretty;
    She rode the freight train west all the way from Detroit City..."

    My favorite lines:

    "With some she travelled fast, with others it was slow;
    Betsy'd seen them all, she'd seen them come and go;
    She must have had some favorites before I finally met her -
    But now that she's all mine, they'd better just forget her..."

    To say nothing of the "Betsy took some beatings/but she never once complained" bridge...

    You guys rock!

    I've also come up with the "I Love Rock & Roll" and, of course, "I Love Rocky Road." :laugh:

    Given their overall quirkiness, I say this qualifies as a love song:

    I Love My Dog by Cat Stevens. Then again, people consider dogs more dear to them than people!

    Not sure how accurate this is, but wasn't "Green Eyed Lady" by Sugarloaf supposed to be about a cat?
